IMAG0147

If I may interrupt our running stream of political drama in the GOP primaries, I'd like to register a point of pride and introduce a new member to the Ricochet fold, my Dad, Jim Carter.  For those of you who have read this post about our travels together, or this tribute to a remarkable parent, or this post about his current battle with Alzheimer's, you probably feel as if you already know him.

Where I would say that he has been without internet access, he would cut to the chase by saying, "My dot com is busted."   Well, that issue has been remedied, and so he is among the computing.  He's still wading into the workings of his IPad, learning what virtual button performs which virtual function.   He already has some good ideas for posts, and as his familiarity and comfort with his dot com grows, I expect we may benefit from some interesting stories and the wisdom that comes from a life well lived.

In the meantime, won't you please welcome our new member?   (And please don't rat me out too much.  I'm still in trouble for putting that whoopee cushion on the preacher's chair.)

Welcome to the Rico-verse Mr. Carter. Please remind your son he needs to give a ring when he passes though Bossier City/ Shreveport - Starbucks is just off I-20 at exit 22.

Yes yes yes,...and the gentleman that weighed in on comment #22 above? That's my son, Benjamin, who renewed his membership a few days ago. The plot thickens...

Or maybe, what happened to your son? You're a darned sight better looking than he is. Welcome to Ricochet, We Trust in God but keep our powder dry.

Welcome to Ricochet, Mr. Carter!  Your son is a fine conversationalist, as I found out when I met him for the first time in San Antonio last month!

And now we know from whence Dave gets his good looks.

Welcome, Jim. It is great to have you join us, if for no other reason, than because you've already enriched our lives abundantly by raising such an outstanding and exemplary son. Dave has been a joy to read here. I have no doubt that you will engage us, as well. Glad to have you.
