If I may interrupt our running stream of political drama in the GOP primaries, I'd like to register a point of pride and introduce a new member to the Ricochet fold, my Dad, Jim Carter.  For those of you who have read this post about our travels together, or this tribute to a remarkable parent, or this post about his current battle with Alzheimer's, you probably feel as if you already know him.

Where I would say that he has been without internet access, he would cut to the chase by saying, "My dot com is busted."   Well, that issue has been remedied, and so he is among the computing.  He's still wading into the workings of his IPad, learning what virtual button performs which virtual function.   He already has some good ideas for posts, and as his familiarity and comfort with his dot com grows, I expect we may benefit from some interesting stories and the wisdom that comes from a life well lived.

In the meantime, won't you please welcome our new member?   (And please don't rat me out too much.  I'm still in trouble for putting that whoopee cushion on the preacher's chair.)

Mole-eye, how much money do I owe you now? I need to keep track of this.

What?  There's no anti-nepotism rules in the Ricochet C of C?  Welcome Jim, and here's hoping that your dot com is always unbusted.

Almost everybody knows the old Irish greeting, "Top of the morning to you", but fewer know the "proper" Irish response.  It is:

"And the rest of the day to you."

So, welcome, Mr, Carter-- and top o' the morning to you... and the rest of the day as well!
