Can be found here. I probably took about 100 so you can look to your heart's content. Lots of smug liberal elitism but some great funny signs, too.

Just read thru the lineup. Thank God I wasn't a witness.

How did your friends and out-of-town guests self-assess the rally? Did it live up to their expectations?

Where exactly is the sanity?

Or did I misunderstand and the reason they are rallying is not because they are the sane ones, but because they are the ones needing some sanity?

I like the Daily Caller's take:

Sounds like a real slacker event, lightly seasoned with the usual contingent of old hippies.

Well, the big problem with the whole post-ironic aspect of the event was that no one quite knew why they were here. But everyone had a great time. For one thing, MUCH better music at this rally than most. The Roots? Come on!

It was a very liberal rally. Everyone there was an Obama voter, basically. Tons of hipsters. But lots of baby boomers, too. And many of my neighbors -- families with kid types -- were there.

We got back in time to hear Colbert's closing sermon. And that seemed to sum it up nicely -- they wanted to feel like they were moderates and this helped them achieve that.

Am I the only one who doesn't find Colbert funny? Not because of his politics, I just don't think he's a talented comedian.

Jon Stewart, on the other hand, is a comic genius. And I sure loved how he took Obama to the woodshed the other night. Calling POTUS "dude" and literally laughing right in his face.

I don't like Colbert or Stewart. They both seem to think that pithy one liner's are all that is needed for an intellectual debate.

With Stewart it seems like if he's smarter than you (or has done his homework better) he will actually use logic and argument to make you look stupid. If you're smarter or have done your homework better he'll use sarcasm and one liners to...make you look stupid. The only option is debating on his terms and either way you're going to lose.Which would be fine if he were just a comedian but since a large number of people seem to take their political guidance from him it is scary.

I think Stewart has the best writers in the business. I wonder what Denise and Rob think.

Having done a little talk radio myself, I really admire Stewart's work ethic. Being as well-prepared as he is and hitting every line right on the mark in conjunction with a whirly-gig of graphics is no easy thing. (Helps to have great producers, of course.)

To give the man his due, as the Obama administration and the Pelosi Congress have descended into pathos, he's been right there to mock them along the way. Like Juan Williams, he's a liberal, but he ain't blind.

Okay, what talk radio? When? Where? Can I listen to a podcast? Because I would.

Why, thank you, Felicia. But this was a small New Jersey station in the pre-podcast days. All lost to the ether now.

By the way, I went by the pseudonym "Tom Paine", a number of years before Beck leveraged it.

Kenneth, Colbert comes from Sketch comedy (2nd city) and Stewart is a standup comedian. There's a Sunni-Shia thing with these guys that no one really talks about. Sketch comedians took over SNL which is why its so uber-liberal.

I got there late, since parking was - needless to say - a problem. The crowd was upbeat, and a lot of them (average age 30 or so) appeared to be there just to have a good time. George Washington University is just up the block, so a lot of those students showed up.

I suspect many of Stewart's and Colbert's fans don't believe in anything, particularly, and may not vote at all. There was a guy with a rainbow sombrero wearing a burnoose and a white robe advertising himself as the "gay Mexican Muslim"; a guy in a chicken suit and another as an ape; and the crowd was about 95% white.

Some amusing signs: Fear My Sanity, Team Sanity, Ban Slogans, God Hates Hate!, and Angry Sign.

It was a traveling comedy road show, and a crowd that loves to laugh and be where the fun is.
