Sometimes hyperbole is useful in making a point. Other times, it just looks downright imbecilic. This from my own Congresscritter in California's 8th District, definitely fits in the latter category.
Pelosi on today’s vote: “What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget…we’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.”

My dad's birthday is on August 2nd. When I wished him farewell yesterday as we parted company, I told him that my birthday wish for him was that we would all survive the impending Obama-synthesized apocalypse so that he could enjoy another year of life. At least I got a chuckle.

Oh see, Diane, you truncated the quote. It really deserves its full context:
"What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget…we’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today." In that spirit, we in the house Democratic Caucus have agreed to be placed in cryo-stasis. Then, once the Republicans have destroyed the world we will be able to guarantee the rebirth of civilization funded by the interest on my unused cosmetic procedures money.
See! She is being responsible :-p

It's quite amusing to watch a person become a caricature of herself. With a little more botox she may take on the physical appearance of a caricature.
