Re: Parent of the Decade
Cruel and unusual

Re: Parent of the Decade
I think requiring children to do chores is now considered cruel and unusual punishment and most likely torture under modern day definitions. WiFi may even be considered a individual right in some jurisdictions. So while clever and appealing I suspect you may get sued or jailed if you actually tried something like this.

Don't let child services get wind of this abuse!

There are not words to adequately express my admiration...

Re: Parent of the Decade
It is great... right up until the point that the child just uses 3g and racks up a huge bill. Otherwise, I like it.

Are they sleeping with a sword under their pillow, lest their children mount a Wifi Spring?

Re: Parent of the Decade
A second post-it maybe?
"Want your SIM Card/Smartphone password? ..."
Still, a law requiring internet companies to change passwords of clients regularly would work better and spare parents the difficulty of parenting.

Fail. My children have nothing with which to use wifi.

Re: Parent of the Decade
Um, I've been doing this with my kids for awhile. Didn't know it was "post-worthy", it just seemed like a good idea (and damn effective, too, I might add).

Re: Parent of the Decade
It's clear that what we need is universal internet, to be marketed as ObamaNet.
Hmmm... I'm running out of ideas...

I hope my girlfriend doesn't see this. I don't want her getting any ideas when I'm supposed to be cleaning the kitchen...

Re: Parent of the Decade
If this qualifies of parent of the decade, then I am in the running for the century. My kids work for me, not the other way around.

Re: Parent of the Decade
That only works until the kid realizes that physical access to the wireless router allows him to control its password.
