Okay, Peter, you've heard my case and Ben Domenech's for a substantial Romney victory. Now, what if I told you that Michael Barone thinks Ben and I are both wrong ... because we're selling Romney short? Just out from The Oracle himself over at the Washington Examiner:

Bottom line: Romney 315, Obama 223. That sounds high for Romney. But he could drop Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and still win the election. Fundamentals.

Come on out, Peter. We're pretty sure this branch can support all of us.

Fortunately, the entire Ricochet business model does not appear to be dependent on the structural integrity of that particular branch.

When my son's Economics high school teacher (Canadian Liberal which is American Leftie)  tells me that it is a battle over who thinks debt of $16T is fine and who thinks debt will sink the American economy, the mainstream people are getting the message. I was stunned he would test out if I would vote Romney.

So Tweetie bird is not sawing the branch.

Ironically, the storm may also make people more cynical about the message of wonderful big government helping us all.

I'm reasonably confident of a Romney victory, but every time I start believing that it will be *that* big, I just can't bring myself to complete the thought.

It is a nice thought, though.

I've been predicting a win since early summer. I texted "bloodbath" to my sisters when Ryan joined the ticket. Come on out on the limb ... There's room for lots more.

If Michael Barone AND Jay Cost think Romney will win, maybe I should wander over to intrade.

I have hope.
But (<---- that there is for Lileks)

I could not fathom in 2008 how the country could possibly elect a fly weight like Barack Obama. I mean, I know McCain was the alternative, but, c'mon! The man had (and *has*) accomplished nothing other than getting himself elected in specious ways.... And has proven to be even smaller than one could believe - too small by half for a big job. So I know something of inconsiderable disappointment.

I am on the limb. I'll stay on the limb. But I can also hear some cracking and creaking behind us....

All I have to offer is near-wordless hope that the amazing Michael Barone--the man who literally wrote (and regularly updates) the book on every congressional district in America--is on his game.

Fingers crossed so hard that they are getting numb.

The biggest campaign rally of the weekend is likely to be speaking from the pulpits of a huge number of churches and cathedrals.  I have a feeling that this will end being a big deal in the post-mortems.

I wonder if Sebeliobama had confidence in the mandates because evangelicals would never vote for a Mormon?

I asked my 95 year old and very conservative mom about that, and she said "Vote for Obama over Romney because he's a Mormon?  Are you kidding?"  She wasn't waiting for the Billy Graham endorsement.

315 sound high. Romney will get between 281-291. I said it first. That is, if we all turn out to vote. I don't know if any of you have taken a drive by the early voting stations yet, but they are packed (unfortunately, I live in Sheila Jackson Lee's district, so that can't be good news). So don't worry about it, just vote.

315-223 was my prediction too, this morning under Flagg's post.   (Flagg predicts same.)

It's great to hear that someone famous for deep experience and level-headedness came up with the same number.

The Obama minions were out in full force on my university campus today. I went from one building to another, about a 5 minutes walk, and was hit up by 5 different people at different points on the way trying to get me to go vote for Obama. They were handing out directions and offering to help guide students to the early voting locations on campus. I don't know how successful they were, but it didn't boost my optimism much seeing the scale of their machine in action.

I know what you mean Kofola. Fortunately I haven't seen any of that at my university (otoh, we don't even have a College Republican group, which is pretty astounding for a uni. in Houston). Its not as if these kids will actually vote, because if they're anything like me, they would have forgotten to send in their voter registration card till this week. The more they put effort into recruiting college kids, the more they waste their efforts.

Michael Barone thinks Romney will get 315?

315? Sounds great... Michael has forgotten more about campaigns than I'll ever know... but 315?

Are you sure it wasn't Ray Barone, Troy?
