Our Dear Leader
Not too long ago, when commenting about the prayer vigil for Obamacare at the Supreme Court steps, I quipped, "I wonder if Obama knows they aren't praying to him."
I may have spoken too soon. I'm sure most here have heard about the latest "alteration" made to the American flag at Democrat county offices in Florida.
In response, Nancy Hurlbert removed the flag, and stated:
It leads me to believe it's not about the flag. Certain Elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president.
The obvious playing of the race card aside, there's more to this. America is not our leaders; we left that system in the Revolutionary War. Here, however, we see a nigh cult of personality, the elevation of man over nation, much as we see in despotic countries.
Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they are praying to Obama.

It's not about the flag.
Opposition to the HHS mandate isn't about religious freedom.
Concern about a $15 trillion debt isn't about money.
The 2010 elections weren't a referendum on Obama's first two years.
It's ALL about racism! How many times do we have to explain that to you dumb bigots?

My strategy for dealing with something like this would be to order as many as possible and put them everywhere. People who are only slightly irritated by the cult of O need to become very irritated.

Lets be honest here. These people don't care about the flag. To them flags are pieces of cloth used by white men to justify taking land from brown men. They probably don't even understand why any one would think their Obama flag is in poor taste. If they weren't putting the O's face on it they would be burning it.
Incidentally is it racist if you burn an Obama Flag, or is that still an expression of patriotic dissent?

Snopes has an interesting article on the controversy, although their proffered justification that the Obama flag may not violate the Florida flag statute because "it could be considered a US-inspired flag design rather than an actual version of a U.S. flag" is a bit much.

To top it all off.......The Democrat party doesn't even know how to fold the flag. Notice the folds are square rather than triangular. The more the Democrat party displays their lack of knowledge about the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the United States of America in general, the more hope, although slight it may be, that I have for the saving of this country and the dismantling of the Socialist institutions put in place by Wilson, FDR, Johnson, Carter, Obama, and their minions.
God Bless the Stars and Stripes, the Stars and Bars, this great country and the people they represent.

Good reference, and a good question. What's more, I would surmise the veterans who protested Obama's face would equally protest placing George W. Bush's face on the flag, or even Ronald Reagan's. That Ms. Hurlbert immediately goes to the racist assumption speaks to what Valiuth stated: They have no respect for the flag or what it represents.
Progressives have vilified patriotism, sidelined religion, and mocked individual achievement. They have nothing left, and constantly are seeking that super-man who will prove himself better than the rest of us lowly humans and lift us out of ignorance -- willing or no.
They see Obama as this super-man. As progressive friends commented just weeks after his inauguration: "He's an extraordinary man for extraordinary times." I am certain there are plenty who still see things this way.

Good point. No president's face should be there. That's the place for stars, which represent the states. If you can't remember what a state is, check out the Tenth Amendment.

I'm not sure Hurlbert's saying "certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president" constitutes an "obvious playing of the race card." It may well have been Hurlbert's intention to play the race card, but accusing her of doing so on the basis of these words alone may be counterproductive. In truth, there are certain elements that cannot accept Obama as president. They're known as Republicans.
