Speaking of intelligent punditry, I know my readers on Ricochet are eager to hear my meditations on the Silva-Belfort match. What can I say, Silva's everything they say he is.
I found his reaction afterwards extremely touching. That's just how I'd feel if I knocked out Vitor Belfort: Really proud and excited for a few seconds, then totally guilty and worried.
Fortunately, that's a situation I'm not apt to face.

Well, I certainly am. And with a front kick to the face no less. Of course, now Belfort knows how Wanderlei Silva and Marvin Eastman felt back in the day.

Nice to have room to stretch my legs out on a thread.

I thought Anderson Silva was such a jerk durring and after the Demien Maia fight that I wanted him to lose to Chael Sonnen who seems every bit as bad now or worse and there is no denying the fact that Silva is perhaps the most talented fighter in history. Its funny that this happened at more or less the same time that Aaron Rogers has received "vindication" over Bret Farve...what nonsense. The fact is we do not really know what sort of people they are based on their actions on camera so its a bit silly to form these judgments but I want my boys to admire athletes for more than their physical gifts. Also there is a strange bond that forms between people who engage in physical combat even when just training. It is a matter I intend to think more about.

Chael Sonnen had won the award for most impressive performance by trash talking loudmouth making his trash talk come true until he tested positive for banned substances.
