Only from the NY Times

This from the New York Times, describing the opening ceremony of the Olympics:
Britain offered a display of humor and humbleness that can only stem from a deep-rooted sense of superiority.
It's as if the Times has been hiring reporters from ethnic studies departments. (Hat tip to Justin Wolfers for noting the above sentence.)

Re: Only from the NY Times
Calling players African is lazy. I just tell people when they ask about my accent that I am "African" because my home country was cut in half and is now called two different names. It is embarrassing to others that they do not know their last few updated decades of geography, so I do not worry about it. For sports announcers it is poor because we all learn about countries from events such as world sporting events. If they use African, they should be fired. There are not that many African countries to be onerous, less than the beer selection at a fancy pub.

For the Fay Lady to comment on humility and humor is like Stevie Wonder commenting on the use of color. The collapse continues apace, with no government subsidy in sight. Sad, sad Fay Lady.

Well, at least it was a subtle dig at the English. The Scots will see this point as being directed at the English. It is also kinder than the Canadians. The British reporters at the winter Olympics wrote insulting headlines about the Vancouver Olympics and it seems that the Vancouver newspapers have been lying in wait for their turn. They did not disappoint. Ugliest Olympic opening ever, they said. That is quite something to get the nice Canadians so furious. Boris owes the Vancouver mayor an apology before he pulls down Romney. Here us a link to the Vancouver Sun. http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Worst+Olympics+Ever+London+Games+look+ugly+literally/7008429/story.html

Re: Only from the NY Times
This also explains Pres O's lack of humility.
The man feels inferior.
