One of the Best Ads of the Year

Many of you probably have heard or seen this ad already. Roger Williams is running for Congress in Texas. What's funny is that some people are trying to say he's comparing Democrats to donkeys. As Herman Cain said, Americans can't take a joke. It's hilarious without being provocative or negative. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing this. You're right - it's not mean-spirited in the least and works on several levels. Effective stuff.

Great ad. Great, great ad. Now this is what political advertising should be about.

Roger Williams for president.
Re: One of the Best Ads of the Year
I can't tell you how much this ad brightened my day. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's seeing the idea expressed clearly, without cliches or grandiosity, in an effective way--it's so rare.

That's an ad? I thought it was a documentary.

Yes, it is simple and clear. Humor is key. I love his laid back disposition. I'm so sick of stuffed shirts who are full of themselves. This was refreshing.

The reason I like it - it's "gentle"

Re: One of the Best Ads of the Year
Great ad, and one of the best uses of donkeys in a supporting role I've seen.

That's either the softest hard sell or the hardest soft sell I've ever seen.
Brilliant.

Re: One of the Best Ads of the Year
I like the part where he holds the big ears and says that they still can't hear him. The last sentence was the perfect punchline, about replacing donkeys with elephants.

Re: One of the Best Ads of the Year
Of course he's comparing democrats to donkeys. It's their flippin' party symbol.
