One Last Note from the Lone Star State*
A friend just sent me a couple of photos of the Ricochet meetup down in Austin last week. Even for Texans, this was just an unusually warm, friendly, and welcoming group of folks. Want proof? Just look at the second picture. There I am, trying to do the A&M "gig 'em" gesture but instead producing the sign for the U.T. longhorns.
And everyone is smiling even so.
*The last note for now, that is. I'll be headed right back to Texas this coming weekend to interview the forty-third chief executive. (Alas, this time the schedule's too tight to permit another meetup.)

Am I the only one who immediately looked at the shoes to discern which one is Jimmy Carter?

We always attract newcomers here at Ricochet, so you must take a course on the Founding Fathers. Here is Robinson 101:
And Peter, I forgive you for being in the Lone Star State when I was visiting the Bay Area last week!

1. IOW: you can relax now, and tell me what you really think.
2. 2037; I'll pencil it in now.
3. Yuck...what's this stuff on my boot?

Impressing W with your newly acquired Texas cultural skills, no doubt.

Did anyone else notice that someone put up two fingers behind someone's head and another finger is pointing at Mr. Robinson's right arm?
As Jimmy Carter's identity goes I don't know but my guess is it was the guy in the sandals. :-D

Both the quantity and quality of Peter's guests is top notch. I'd wager that few others can boast such an impressive guest list.

Jimmy Carter's not the one in sandals; that would be me ;P And I am not pointing at Peter's right arm; I was slipping in a Hook 'Em sign! Now those of us who were there know which is Jimmy but we'll never tell. At least not unless you buy us a couple Shiners.

I wanted to be there, but I had family commitments. Hope you come again soon.

Be sure to tell #43 that I am his big fan and constantly defend him here at Ricochet from the "He-Was-a-RINO" police.

I am so stinkin' envious, Peter! Not only did you get to meet some Texan Ricos, you're going to hang with Bush 43. Doggone it! I think my skin is turning green I'm so envious! Am I the only one who's had dreams of hanging out with Pres. Bush and earned my own nickname from him?

Uhm... BTW, Texan Ricos, I'm going to be taking a road trip with the B crew this summer driving from CA to Florida. It would be fun to meet up with some of y'all.

As a new member I have to ask, is there a way to track a meetup? I'm in Austin but sadly missed the event.

Actually, I'm Mr. Robinson's [finger quote] friend [finger quote]. I'm the only One Who brought a camera, so He asked Me to send Him what I shoot. I'm the One holding the camera and taking all the pictures.
