On The President's Lack Of Decorum
As soon as the Obamatax ruling came out yesterday, Patrick Gaspard, the executive director of the Democratic National Committee tweeted:
@patrickgaspard it's constitutional. [expletive].
Yes, that's right. His tweet -- which references female dogs -- doesn't meet our Code of Conduct.
The DNC's new media director Greg Greene tweeted:
@ggreeneva Overheard in the office: "TAKE THAT MOTHER[EXPLETIVE]S!!
He later tweeted he was going to "hug the [expletive] out of some broccoli." Ha ha ha!
Now, one of my worst vices is that I cuss like a sailor. Or used to. It's amazing how becoming a mother can cure you of this problem. But I'm not pretending I'm immune from this condition. However, one has to know the time and place.
But guess who else doesn't know the time or place. (And no, I'm not talking about the Obama campaign email this morning that told people to "win the [expletive] election.") Check out this tweet from Barack Obama's official campaign:
@BarackObama Still a BFD: http://OFA.BO/ayPgAZ
Really? Really? Really? When your public statements wouldn't even be uttered by Lyndon Baines Johnson, that may be an indicator you should grow up.

The tweet went out to 17 million followers and includes a link to a T-shirt Obama is selling for $30 that repeats the expletive.

Oh, let them gloat.
All they're doing is firing up our base more and showing the independents out there what kind of people they really are.

Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
I remember seeing a video clip of Andy Stern (SEIU) saying, "we prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn’t work, we use the persuasion of power." And if you're in the habit of steamrolling people that don't agree with you, that habit is probably going to seep into your rhetoric. I think they (the Progressives) kind of like to leave their opponents bleeding and bruised, from verbal abuse if nothing else.

Decorum and Twitter. That's a rare thing, that.
We live in the age of the obnoxious.

What was said about the PM in the Yes, Minister episode "The Writing on the Wall" could be said to apply to most progressive politicians:
”You know the PM's motto – in defeat, malice; in victory, revenge”.

Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
The title of a recent book by Theodore Dalrymple (which everyone should read) says it all: "Our culture, or what's left of it."
When this is the kind of stuff the comes out of a sitting president's campaign, one can only wonder if anything is left.

And supposedly Reagan would never take his jacket off in the Oval Office.
Remember how the Clinton Kids trashed everything before they left? What do you suppose the Obama Idiots will do on their way out the door?
I've never been a Romneyfan, but there's a part of me that hopes a Romney Presidency brings a little civilization back to the White House.

Send all tweets, blogs, and correspondence to John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States.
His opinion argued that the Court is obligated to do whatever it can to salvage a law, even to the point of skipping past the arguments made, and adopting interpretations not made, to make sure that the law stands.
(So much for the neutral umpire merely calling balls and strikes.)
Why are we expected to bend over backward? Because -normally-, we treat passed laws by default as the expressed desire of the people. It's out of respect for the will of the people that the Court is willing to go to extraordinary lengths.
But ObamaCare wasn't the product of an overwhelming popular movement. This was a liberal Democrat Party dream, pushed through on the rejection of Bush after blaming him for the financial crisis. Even so, with a commanding majority, they still needed a parliamentary trick to get it passed. They didn't even really pass it ... they "deemed" it as passed.
Its passage was a fraud. Upholding it on the grounds that it was duly passed is also a fraud.
Roberts deserves to see what he unleashed.

These tweets give me that sense of cultural dislocation. When did this become acceptable?

By the way, learning that Ricochet's own "Miss Manners," Mollie Hemingway, cusses like a sailor . . . that just puts a smile on my face.
Perhaps she'll give us a sampling on the next Podcast with the Hemingways.

Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
For all you that are acting "shocked... SHOCKED!" that this is happening, I have one question.
What did you expect from the President who embraced the vulgar police-car-defecating, we-won't-report-rapes Occupy movement?
Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
I've coached hundreds of youth sports games, and even though with the kids you try to keep it tamped down, with victory always comes a little peacocking.
When you are on the losing end of it that can hurt, but what helps you through it is that when you win you quickly realize it is simply part of human nature. So you peacock a little yourself when you are the victor.
When you lose you learn to smile at them and tip your hat when they do it, and with the persistence of a Cubs fan say, "Wait 'til next year."

Mollie,
Perhaps you're unfamiliar with the Left's pejorative "cricket morality," made famous by Arthur Koestler's character "Rubashov" in Darkness at Noon.

Am I the only one who finds all the [expletive]s a lot funnier than if the actual quote had been included? It's almost like adult Mad-Libs.

Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
In light of the "Roberts Rules of Disorder" where everything is reconcilable and even claiming an unearned military honor is "free speech," may I propose that we go full Orwell?
Every Saturday morning we can have our "Two minutes of Hate" but extended over an hour. During that hour we can cuss like drunken sailors and question each other's heritage and behave like children to our hearts' content. Then, Diane, Mollie or Yeti will come in, expunge the whole thread and the Ministry of Truth will inform us that it didn't happen. Anyone who insists that it did will be penalized, eh, I mean "taxed."

Re: On The President's Lack Of Decorum
Everyone has a variation of this story.
In high school, on the football team, we were undefeated as freshmen (we only gave up 12 points in 10 games). As sophomores, we moved up to the JV team, and won our first four games ... then we had our first loss.
Our coach started practice, noticing how down we were. He stopped practice, called us all together, and we all took a knee.
"How many people live in China?" he said. "Like a billion, right?"
"Gentlemen, not a single one of them gives a flying [----] that we lost the last game. Now get your [---] out of your [---] and put your head on straight."
We won the rest of our games.
