Oh, That Was Fun!
Michael Horn, thank you so much for putting together the DC Ricochet Meet-up! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, especially considering I brought the youth vote to the event. I'm telling ya, Mrs. Sisyphus is a pro at keeping boy children entertained. Just when they started going off the rails, she'd pull out some goodie from her bag and keep my boyz distracted.
Something quite in evidence tonight was how brilliant everyone is who is attracted to Ricochet. Sheesh, at one point, I found myself turning into a clown because I'd run out of cogent things to discuss. Yet, they were all so kind and indulgent. Fun, fun, fun people! Thank you for the great evening!
Due to the sensitive nature of some of our Rico members' jobs, I'm not going to label this photo. I figure I'll let each person identify themselves in the photo, if they choose. I'm on the Left end with two of my wiley boys. It was the end of the night, and they were desperately trying to stay awake. Hence, the goofy rabbit ears. The Man is standing behind the pretty lady holding my youngest. The pretty lady was trying to steal my child. Not long after the photo, we got in a wrestling match.
Nah. Just checking to see if you're still with me.

You'll definitely have to come to the August DC meet-up being planned. I believe they're hoping to have Mollie Hemingway show up.

I'll put round two together this summer, don't worry. Most likely in August so we can (hopefully) have some out of town members join us--the hope being that they may be in town for vacation.

That's me in the middle of the back row, holding youngest B, standing between Mr. B and the bearded fella in the blue shirt. It's true, I considered running of with youngest B, but he wasn't willing to share the cobra sillybandz, so I gave him back to his parents, along with the leftover fried mozzarella. And by the way, the Beltway traffic makes me want to cry. The Outer Loop was a parking lot at 10:30 pm. Fortunately I was on the Inner Loop. It was merely slow.

I was impressed that Sisyphus and Michael were able to guide us to a venue for the Beltway Soiree which was 1) a stone's throw outside the Beltway (for the sake of decency) and 2) within sight of the National Right to Work building (for the sake of inspiration). Well done!

I too am a DC/Md Ricochet member. Please put us on a mailing list for the next local meet-up. We feel so isolated in our Chevy Chase neighborhood!
