As the Los Angeles Times reports, the Occupy movement created a Rose Parade float--a 70-by-40-foot octopus of recycled plastic bags.  The octopus, said one activist, represents Wall Streets stranglehold on political, cultural and social life, with tentacles "that reach into your pocket to get your money and a tentacle to get your house."

As BreitbartTV reports, the Rose Parade spectators booed the float and Occupy protestors.

No insight, no message, no talent, no clue...

Yeah, they truly are bereft.

Upon viewing the counter demonstration, the octopus idea used to be a disturbing metaphore. No real meaning other than some free reaching beast that gains momentum when enough hold it up. Consider that, as they wish you to do.

Yeah...ok.

So an octopus is used to represent Wall Streets stranglehold on political, cultural and social life, with tentacles "that reach into your pocket...", what float would represent the government? I think the Federal government should claim the octopus, isn't one of it's defense mechanisms ink? The government passes thousand page bills, that's a lot of ink.

I don't get it. I thought all the floats in that parade had to be made out of flowers.

I think Occupy's going soft. That Rose Parade is a little too one-percenty for me. There are people with money there.

They were not an official float.  They "occupied" the parade.

It's moments like this that make me proud to be a one-percenter.

From here originally. It actually makes sense considering what the OWS people want is to be pampered toddlers their whole lives.

Sadly, most of these people sincerely believe they have a message and are making a difference. They have no idea how to create success in their lives, having been given everything from the time they were born.  If they whine long enough they will get what they want.  It worked with mommy and daddy.

Thanks, KP. The octopus, a sweet, intelligent species, is certainly ill-used by these lefty types.
