Obamacare Open Thread
I thought about posting on a few other things this morning (this story on Mexican medical tourism in the New York Times fails to mention the costs of regulation or liability insurance when evaluating why costs are cheaper) but I can't think about anything other than the Supreme Court.
So as we prepare for a deluge of postings* analyzing the ruling, let this be our open thread for all things Obamacare.
*And contributor livechats. Ben Domenech's live thread. Avik Roy & NRO friends live chat.

As an adjunct, part of my teaching mission is focus upon primary sources, especially when teaching a class like constitutional law (to undergraduates). As those who, presumably, seek to understand not just the bare statements, but the rationale, we must take care not only to celebrate or denigrate the forthcoming ruling, but to carefully parse through what the Court says and, as importantly, does not say.

Going back and forth between this and updates from family in Colorado Springs. A good day for things not requiring concentration.

344K readers at SCOTUSblog for this. They are being rewarded for their daily work covering the court.

I'm with you, Leigh. My parents live in Douglas County and my Dad is camping with all of my nieces, my nephew and another cousin in Woodland Park. I want them to get out of there ...

Re: Obamacare Open Thread
I have the most severe case of political fatigue I have ever had.
Usually, in Presidential election years, I'm worn out by November, and have to take a break from politics for several months before I can start thinking politically again.
But here it is June, and I'm worn out already. Part of that is probably because here in Wisconsin, we've been to the polls so many times in the past year -- I've lost count of the number -- with primaries, all the recalls and a court election. So we're plumb tuckered out.
But then, being the sort of person who can't stay away from what's not good for him, I spend way too much time each day scouring politically-focused news sites.
I need a break from it all! I can't take a break from it all because there's too much happening!

My prediction: the scotus website will crash as soon as the healthcare opinion is put online and linked in the scotusblog live feed. They just hit over half a million readers on their feed.

I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about Justice Kennedy. A single individual should not consume so much of one's thoughts, yet I can't help but marvel that the course of history could turn on the decision of one man.
Does the justice think on these things during his quiet moments?

First I read that it was struck down -- then that it survives as a tax?

Not an income tax and not apportioned...how is that a constitutional tax?
