ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
But not in the bits in-between, apparently. Look at the map - from Heritage's Foundry. The states in blue are not only opposed to ObamaCare - they've all joined the lawsuits to overturn it. And even in many non-blue states, Obamacare is unpopular among the voters (Kentucky, West Virginia...), even if the governor declined to join the litigation.
It really shows how narrow Obamacare's support is. Strictly a one-party creature, it is only in the most loyal Democrat regions where the law has not actually inspired sitting governors to sue the federal government.

Re: ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
The grouping of PA, OH, IND, WI, and MI plus WA speaks volumes.

Re: ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
The only reason WA state joined the lawsuit is because the Attorney General is a Republican and is running for governor. The current very blue governor and legislature fought him.

Re: ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
Don't count Washington in so fast. Just because we are blue on the chart doesn't mean much. We happen to have a Republican Attorney General, Rob McKenna, who is a decent fellow and is running for Governor. If not for him, our state would be gray on the map above. I would argue that more than half of Washington support the ACA regardless of whether they think it's constitutional or not. So really, we are gray. I use term "we" loosely.

Re: ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
I count 22 states that, if not supporting Obama Care, at least aren't trying to repeal it.
Like Tabula Rasa mentioned, the main swing states--PA, OH, etc.--seem to support Obama Care.
This doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Re: ObamaCare is Popular from Coast to Coast
Missouri has an Obamaphile for governor, and the AG is a turncoat democrat who filed a friend of the court supporting the other states ( half baked). Our Lt Gov personally filed a suit against Obamacare. Darn it we're trying !!

You're reading it wrong. PA, OH, and, for the reasons expressed above, WA are opposing Obamacare. The only swing states not to oppose it are North Carolina, New Hampshire, and New Mexico, and Governor Johnson may be making New Mexico a safe blue state. Since both Mexico and Hampshire have socialized medicine, I can understand their ex-colonies following suit, but what is North Carolina's excuse?
The other interesting position that this reminds us of is Mike Beebe, who won his 2010 re-election in a landslide, despite supporting Obamacare. Arkansas should not have been a difficult state for us to at least put up a fight in.

A bit surprised to find my homestate, Montana, gray. Sad that it is being overrun by those few liberal cities. We have long complained about liberal out-of-staters moving to Montana in order to "preserve" nature by keeping it away from Montanans. Sigh.

Ah, thank you James. My mind was half fried out from work when I saw this post yesterday. My spirits are lifted!
