Chris Matthews no longer has that tingle in his leg. Evan Thomas no longer thinks the man a god. But “the One” still has his worshippers on American campuses, and Matthews and Thomas will rally round once the two presidential campaigns get started in 2012. On that you can bet.

It strikes me that if we want to assess Obama’s accomplishments, the video posted above might be a good starting point. Have those who produced it done the man an injustice? We on Ricochet report; you decide.

No injustice done there... The records thing begs an odd question...  As the Law Enforcement saying goes, If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear...

Proves rank doth have its privelages...

Brilliant. Loved the computer generated effect. Makes it impossible to trace the talent's voices :-)

There is entire series of these videos appearing on the net. I don't know who is responsible for the series, but it is very well done.

Honestly, I don't find much solace in the fact that people don't think Obama is far left enough.  Not sure how that helps things at all. The video, on the other hand, is great.

paulebe and Matthew,

These videos are from Xtranormal.com, a free program that allows you to make your own computer characters from a variety of pre-made parts. It's like Build-A-Bear.

You then type the dialogue and your "actors" speak in whatever accent you've selected. Since it does not always pronounce the words as spelled, you have to experiment with phonetic spelling to make them use halfway normal inflections. It's a chore.

You can also shift the position of the camera and add background music.

It's very popular to take jabs at celebrities using this program. Many people make a series of episodes and upload them to Youtube.

This is how I feel as well.  Honestly, if I were on the Left, I'd be extremely proud of what had been enacted legislatively with the health care bill alone and would give the president the credit for the deal-making and arm-twisting that getting it done required.  But I am not on the Left and it's one of the reasons why I wouldn't delude myself into thinking that he could acomplish all that he promised.  I also don't live in a permanent city of Makebelive, Fantasyland of the Utopian States of Marxia

My favorite part of these videos is the lack of emotion, and flawed cadence and pauses.  It's almost as if the weirdness of that makes it harder to respond/object to what's being said (not that I object to any of it...)

But what you may not understand is that being on the Left is as much a psychological state as it is a political place on the spectrum.  Nothing is ever "Left enough," so accomblished Left things never satiate.  "If it was accomplished, it wasn't Left"  Thus Obamacare is a sellout to the insurance companies who will get rich--single payer would have been the real reform.
