President Obama will hold a Twitter “town hall” this afternoon at 2 P.M. Eastern, moderated by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, an Obama supporter.  Questions will be taken from Twitter itself, where people can ask questions by using the hashtag #AskObama.

I bet that this town hall will be just as illuminating and hard-hitting as all of the previous town halls and press conferences. On Twitter, folks are coming up with some good questions for the president. Here are a few of my favorites:

@jpodhoretz What did you say at Rashid Khalidi's farewell dinner?

@TPCarney Why are you trying to end a tax credit for 5 oil companies while leaving it in place for other oil companies & all coal companies?

@TPCarney How often do you speak with DLA Piper lobbyist Tom Daschle, and on what issues?

@TPCarney Geithner's chief of staff was a Goldman lobbyist. He didn't get a waiver. Does he really avoid all tax, monetary & banking issues?

@EdMorrissey: Your budget was rejected by Senate 97-0 & Dems haven’t produced budget in 790+ days. Where is your economic plan?

@jimgeraghty: Why did your Department of Housing and Urban Development just give a $78K grant to ACORN? http://mwne.ws/pdjTpq

@jimgeraghty When long-term unemployment is higher than during the Great Depression, why do you insist we are "headed in the right direction"?

@jimgeraghty Was the proudest moment of your presidency the day the Guantanamo Bay detention center closed?

@jimgeraghty When was the last time you paid for your own gas? Probably late 2004 or so, right?

@jimgeraghty Under 8 years of George W. Bush, the unemployment rate was never above 7.3%. When will it be that low again?

@DarrellIssa when were you going to share just how many of your agencies participated in #fastandfurious? INFO: http://1.usa.gov/pvqXJQ

@iowahawkblog Are you smart enough to create a problem so big that even you could not solve it?

What are your questions?

If Michelle is finally so proud of our country, then why are all her vacations outside of it?

I have a few more from Twitter:

@kerpen Is shutting down a Boeing plant that already employs 1000+ part of your "jobs agenda"?

Can you explain where money comes from, and what are the natural limits on its creation?

You've claimed to be moving the country in the right direction.  What are your specific numerical metrics for unemployment, inflation, GDP, and household debt/income, which would indicate to you a country heading in the wrong direction?

Who is more evil:  Republicans or Communists?

How much money will you bring in to the treasury each year by eliminating the deduction for corporate jets? And how much is that as a % of the total cost of your stimulus bill?

Q: Why do you think you are like Ronald Reagan?

Oh, yes, Q: How's that hopey changey thing goin?

Which reminds me, Q: Congratulations on reducing the planet's mean temperature during the entire 21st Century (I am sure the Sun and Mr Bush had nothing to do with it) - yes you can! But when exactly are the sea levels gonna start falling?

Mr. Obama, you mentioned in a recent Town Hall meeting that in order to reduce the price and dependency on gasoline, individuals should buy smaller and more energy efficient cars. Would you use your administration's recent expansion of the Commerce Clause under ObamaCare to mandate that people buy electric cars?

Sadly, I am afraid of the answer.

Once you've fully evolved on same sex marriage, will you then evolve on transgender and bi-sexual marriage?  No, wait...

If Republicans politicians are surrounded by Christian fundamentalist homophobes, does surrounding yourself with straw men make you a pyrophobe?  Are you still able to light your own cigarettes?

@DavidBrooks: Could you tell me where you get your trousers pressed?

Too bad Obama's answers to the #askobama questions can't be limited to 140 characters. Someone's filibustering.

I would like the "good" questions reprinted in a little redstate book we can carry around in our pocket.

Is anyone watching this thing out of curiosity, or is his audience nowadays only people who have to watch him because it's how they make money?

I'm watching...but I guess it's part of the job :)

It's really dreadful.  It sounds like one of those fluffy campaign speeches full of platitudes and assertions that he doesn't mean. Signature monotone voice and stuttering, and blame-Bushism.

We don't use 25% of the world's oil.  I can't believe that old chestnut keeps getting trotted around.  IBD busted that myth in the 90's.  We use 24% of the total global energy produced, and most of our consumption is 1.) coal, and 2.) mined domestically.  But honesty won't sell the Chevrolet Volt, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much.

OMG - the video started by itself, whereas I always make a point of not listening to Mr Obama - it did sound dreadful, until I could hit the pause button.

Luckily for me, I'm part of the group that feels not the slightest compulsion to actually ever watch a press conference or listen to any of his speeches.  I'm more than happy to have it filtered through the conservative commentariat (people like Diane).  Better to have it filtered than to take is straight.

Yeah, the automatic video feed scared me. I was on a completely different website and suddenly I had Obama speaking to me offscreen out of the blue! I had a brief black helicopter moment.
