Obama Pivots To Jobs, Again
USA Today informs us that "Obama isn't expected to break much new ground in his speech today." That speech is so the President can make yet another pivot to the weak economy. What in the world do you think he'll say?
There's some salty language at this blog, but one guy made a long list of all the times Obama had pivoted to jobs during his presidency. The list is from last summer.
According to the Federal Reserve, the middle class saw its net worth plummet from a median of $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010. Polls indicate that they believe Obama is completely out of touch with their concerns.
Pardon me, but what is he going to say today? Announce a new fundraiser with Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour?
And did anyone advise President Obama about the location he chose to give this speech?
President Obama's campaign speech on the economy today will be delivered in the same spot where Bill Clinton delivered a 2010 campaign speech Obama might just as soon forget.
In September 2010, Clinton told his Cuyahoga Community College audience in Cleveland that Democrats deserved two more years to fix the nation's economy.
"The Democrats are saying something like this: 'We found a big hole that we did not dig. We didn't get it filled in 21 months, but at least we quit digging,'" Clinton said at the time. "'Give us two more years. If it doesn't work, vote us out.'"
My theory? He's not going to talk about jobs but, rather, some perilous new threat to contraception. What's your theory?

Is it just me, or has President Obama “pivoted to jobs” so often you’d have to call it a pirouette? And another question, asked because I don’t know all that much about basketball (I’m a baseball, football, hockey kind of guy): despite all the characterizations of him having “pivoted” to jobs, wouldn’t “juke”, be more accurate term?

I keep getting a perfect storm feeling, but I refuse to allow it fully form. I would rather doubt and be surprised than hope and be disappointed. The latest restatement of his leftward ideological purity and economic insanity will probably add more clouds to his horizon.

Yep, all he can do is pivot - He has one foot firmly planted in leftist dogma, he ceased dribbling and now his choices are shoot or turn some more.

and creates a divit, right where his foot is placed.

I think the Romney campaign should keep talking about the "private sector is doing fine" quote, but do as Jay Carney has asked and discuss the quote within the entire context of Obama's argument.
The argument that more money needs to be funneled to states and localities - where it will be used to fund giant pension benefits for public sector unions.

If all you do is pivot, you end up looking like a wobbly top.
I liked the ad--very simple and direct: Obama's "the private sector is fine" comment will be a gift that keeps on giving.

He's been given so many opportunities to do Clinton-style triangulation, so many times when he could have tacked to the center and possibly secured a second term. But every time he just goes further leftward and doubles-down on the "Blame Bush," "Republicans Bad," "Rich Evil" nonsense.
Will he finally change course? Nope.

Actually, since the promised pivot never actually occurs, its more like a head fake. But if you head fake the same move every time, it fools no one: they realize you have no shot (at a real jobs plan).

What little I heard of the speech was truly morose; just unbearable.
What I wonder about is, once he leaves office, what on Earth he will do?
No one will be paying big bucks to hear his thoughts on a speech circuit. He isn't even handy, as was Carter after a life around farming, so Habitat For Humanity is out.
What on Earth is this man even capable of doing to make a living, assuming he loses his current position and people start avoiding his cloud?
Perhaps color commentary for basketball?
