Obama On Biden: "Shoot. Me. Now."
Jim Geraghty has been reading Jodi Kantor's book The Obamas. Look what he found on page 26:
Initially, Barack had tuned out the presidential talk, too. But he was just as disappointed with the U.S. Senate as he had been with the state senate – he had gone to Washington to do big things, but he was a junior member of a slow, rule-bound, Republican-controlled body. “Shoot. Me. Now.” he wrote to an aide, in the middle of a particularly long-winded oration. (The speaker was Senator Joe Biden.)
With what Biden has said about Obama over the years, knowing that these two guys are not fans of each other means they have at least some sense, eh?

One characteristic of blowhards is that they never listen. Biden and Obama are two peas in a pod. I wonder how often their conversations are punctuated with "you're not listening to me!"

Vice President Joe Biden is the best unmandated presidential-impeachment insurance coverage there is. What other possible reason could there be to have him there? I guess you could ask his advice, and do the opposite. That might work.

No wonder he's frustrated as president.

And here I thought Obama was completely clueless. On second thought, he picked Joe as his VP.

Wait. Before he had to resign for his own pecadilloes, Spiro T. Agnew was filling that role pretty well for Nixon.

Mr. Obama’s problem is that he was born to a country that has in its top position an elected office required to lead a free people. I think he would have preferred to be born in a country where he could aspire to be a dictator so that could direct subjects. It would make implementing his “big things” easier to do and him a happier man.

C'mon now. We might have all done the same thing in his place.

I'd actually forgotten that Biden was VP until I recently saw an old 2008 bumper sticker.

Biden as president . It's like wondering whether Lady Gaga or Madonna would make the best president if they had to follow Whitney Houston into office.
