Obama/Clinton 2012
Rob, James, and I have all speculated about Hillary's potential 2012 presidential bid. As, perhaps, has Obama:
"It's on the table," veteran Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward told CNN's John King in an interview Tuesday on John King, USA. "Some of Hillary Clinton's advisers see it as a real possibility in 2012."
The scenario – whereby Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would switch positions - has been bandied about by political observers for months, seen by some as a potentially savvy strategy to gin up excitement among what appears to be a depressed Democratic base.
But it's never been clear if the idea has been actually discussed in the White House, until now.
"President Obama needs some of the women, Latinos, retirees that she did so well with during the [2008] primaries and, so they switch jobs, not out of the question, and the other interesting question is, Hillary Clinton could run in her own right in 2016 and be younger than Ronald Reagan when he was elected president."
The best way to make sure that Hillary doesn't challenge Obama in 2012? Knock Gaffe-O-Matic Biden off the slate and replace him with Hillary. In the meantime, solidify the support of disillusioned women, Latinos, and blue-collar workers. A brilliant move and a formidable challenge for whomever we elect to run against this potentially lethal duo.

Joe Biden to Barack Obama: "I got only two words for you, Mr. President, 'Fort Marcy Park!'"

Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
A logical question then, would be, why didn't he just ask her to be his Vice President in the first place? That's why I think he won't do it. He doesn't like admitting mistakes. He might change running mates, but it won't be Hillary.

Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
Really...
This is like asking which is farther, a gas station 5 miles east or the one that's 5 miles west?
Or, which will insult your intellegence worse, two 30 second commercials, or one 60 second commercial?
Hillary vs. Biden, I mean why even bother asking; "Choosing between them is like choosing between Seconal and Nembutal." (With Sincere apologies to Mort Sahl)

Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
I don't think that would solve Obama's problem.
How hilarious would Joe Biden be as Secretary of State, though? We could all have a healthy chuckle as we wait for the Canadian missiles to hit us.

Hey, why not?
Obama has problems with male voters and Hillary adds masculinity to the ticket.

Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
I still believe he doesn't have the necessary humility, and if it reaches a point where he absolutely has to add her to come close to winning...he's in a place where she could just take it from him. And I agree with what Rob has been saying for a while: if she resigns shortly after midterms, she intends to do just that.
Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
Okay, here's another sign things are going my way: after the midterms -- and depending on the size of the drubbing -- we'll start reading "background" pieces and "Washington whispers" pieces about how Bill Clinton has reached out to Obama with advice and counsel (who better to help guide the president than a former president who has faced the same thing?) and "sources close to the Clintons" will all say the same thing: he's been "rebuffed" and "ignored" and "calls have not been returned."
It'll be the Clintons, setting the table for the Big Betrayal. They'll be saying, see, we tried, we reached out, but Obama is too arrogant and stubborn to learn anything. As much as we regret it, Hillary just has to run, for the good of the party.
It would be so cool if it turns out I'm right.

Re: Obama/Clinton 2012
If four years of President Obama isn't enough for the electorate to reject him regardless of who is number two on the ticket, then we are done.

Yeah, let's replace Obamacare with the rejected Hillarycare of the '90s. That'll work.
