Cory Booker

A few weeks ago Newark mayor Cory Booker appeared on Meet the Press where he delivered a few mild criticisms of the way Obama has administered his reelection campaign.  Shortly thereafter, something resembling a hostage video of the mayor walking back his criticisms was released through Booker's social media channels, prompting Mollie Hemingway to ask, "Is Cory Booker all right?"

The answer, in short, is no.

It’s bye-bye, Beltway for Cory Booker.

Newark’s mayor, who was gunning for a spot in President Obama’s Cabinet, lost the chance after he shot his mouth off during a blunderingly honest TV appearance last month, sources told The Post.

“He’s dead to us,” one ranking administration official said of the prevailing feelings at the White House and Obama headquarters in Chicago.

Pardon the disingenuous concern trolling, but what, oh, what have the Democrats come to when a sensible guy like Cory Booker isn't even welcome within the Party?

Gee, it's almost like the Democrats have been taken over by the Chicago-based New Party.

We need to get Gov. Christie to work hard on recruiting him into our tent.  Between him and Artur Davis.....

Seriously, the story is that he wanted the HUD job under BHO.  Why can't he do that for our guy?  He's actually a perfect choice.

One wonders what they are saying in private about Clinton.

If Obama wins again (heaven forbid), adding Cory Booker to the cabinet would raise the average IQ by 20 points.  Wouldn't want that to happen--he'd make the rest of those chumps look bad by comparison.

I never imagined myself saying anything nice about a Dem, but honestly, Cory Booker is too good for the Obama administration and always has been.

The ears of Al Capone, Frank Nitti, and Bugs Moran are burning! So proud is the whole mob to see one of their own sitting in the White House. The Chicago Way goes to Washington.  You bring the truth, they bring the baseball bat, or a .45 auto.

Alright, I just read the Wikipedia entry on this guy. From that, he sounds pretty impressive. Is he really?

Pretty soon the Obama acolytes will resemble the end of Goodfellas, when everybody just gets whacked to be on the safe side.

Really?

Booker is so far beyond the sad Obama people, it's funny.

He's a shameless self-promoter and will be around to dance on the graves of the Chicago crowd.

If he can be conservative, hey, draw him in carefully.  But be wary, as Christie has been.

Give him time with Newark and forget about the Obama people, as they will be long gone, soon.

I suspect Booker's path forward will be as a Democrat, second, and as Booker, first.

We need to cut  the Administration some slack on this. After all, we all remember how ruthlessly the Bush administration punished Republican critics when they...

Oh wait.

Never mind.

I hate to keep harping on this, but honestly, it's why I joined Ricochet.  Those of us who have been following the Fast and Furious scandal know just how awful the leadership of the Democratic Party is right now.  I haven't watched the latest hearings yet, but I've seen enough of the previous ones to know that the Democrats MUST be defeated in this election, so they will be forced to get rid of the evil force which is currently driving this country into the ground.

If a few more black politicians like Artur Davis start changing parties (Cory Booker would be a great addition) to join Tim Scott and Allen West, we could see a significant piece of the black community start asking whether the Democrats really represent their values or their economic interests.

I'm not holding my breath, but when you look dispassionately at what liberalism has done to the black family, it should be rejected by those blacks who would like to see the reemergence of a vibrant black family culture in America.

SMS: He's always been a pretty stand-up guy in that he appreciates the importance of the  donut makers. Unfortunately, he's made the wrong choice of political parties. Not hard to understand- look at his constituency.

I certainly hope so; Booker appears to be easier to deal with than the Marxists, the EPA, and NLRB.

Wow. I saw that WA Democrats featured Cory Booker as their keynote speaker at their state convention last weekend. Talk about poor timing!

I don't find it surprising all all. In fact, I was more surprised when I first heard that Booker was thought of as an "Obama surrogate", since the Obama/Emmanuel/Axelrod style is much more reminiscent of Sharpe James, the Newark mayor prior to Booker (fantastically documented in Street Fight, which I highly recommend).
