To counter Ursula's post from earlier today . . . Do you remember that captivating DipDive video from 2008 with attractive celebrities talking about how the world would change under Obama?

It's been remixed. I've watched it about five times already today, laughing out loud each time.

I watched a few seconds of the video and stopped. I elect not having that tune in My head on this day.

Thanks, Mollie! I needed a smile after my last posting.

At first I thought it was funny; when I watched it again, it also frightened, saddened me.

Was it Peter Robinson who spoke of how his Cuban emigre father-in-law became extremely agitated upon hearing Pres. Obama's inauguration speech? The utopian language was nauseatingly similar to the doggerel of many a Latin American despot. In like manner, the fawning, quasi-religious utopianism I saw makes my blood run cold.

I'm glad I didn't try to watch the original; I really would have lost my lunch.

Kudos to Mark Hemingway for that post!
