This is true bravery:  Pro-reform Egyptian women going against the police and losing much more than a couple of days in jail or a cheap Coleman tent.  Thank goodness we have the trusted American media to show us the way...oh, it's the UK Daily Mail.  Sorry.

Please tell me this was covered in the US media?

Drudge has a great picture of this, but these sites either had nothing or just "protesters"

I don't think it will be covered much at all.  It's fascinating when the liberal hierarchy is displayed.  Being Muslim trumps feminism, gay rights, etc, etc.

So, these networks only hate Muslim females. Nice.

Unbelievable--what on earth is wrong with the US media? I didn't post about this simply because I assumed everyone had been watching these scenes in horror all day and didn't need me to state the obvious.

Given that this was the military doing the beating, do you suppose such incidents make the Muslim Brotherhood et al more appealing, less appealing, or have no effect?

A strange aside: there's a point in that video where a soldier, after delivering a beating, covers a woman's semi-nakedness, like he's a gentleman wishing  restore her modesty or dignity or something. Bizarre.

Claire, the Christian Science Monitor has it, for whatever that is worth.  Published just today.  Mentions trampled & stripped women as well as the use of live ammunition.

Claire, following the beatings and sexual molestation of Western reporters in Tahir Square, do you really think American news outlets are going to send crews into these protests?

And, frankly, brutal, violent oppression of women in the Muslim world is so dog-bites-man.

Claire, the "obvious" is what the MSM doesn't report.  The obvious threat of Jihadism, the obvious threat of Iran, the obvious failure of the wrong-headed Obama Administration. And yet the Los Angeles Times used so much pulp covering the OWS movement here you could wrap fish from now to doomsday.

It's medieval.

Apart from CSM, I'm not finding much.

Seems to be an American phenomenon, Denise.
I'm going through the Euro press I can read, and so far, most of the major Scandinavian papers (Jyllands-Posten, Ekstra-Bladet, BT, Aftenposten, Dagbladet, Verdens Gang, Aftonbladet (live chat with a couple of reporters who are there), and Expressen) have stories on the matter.
Not necessarily front-page stories, mind you.  It seems Handball is bigger news to most of them.

It seems to be worth just a one-off story in the major German press.  However, Die Zeit seems to be tracking it pretty closely, having a story for it each day for the past three days

Austria's Die Presse does mention historical documents being destroyed.  Not a lot of discussion about women in these riots, other than mention of the one or two in the videos going around.  Seems that the Daily Mail is the only one running the story with that in mind.
Sorry for not providing English-language links.  Google translate does a decent job, and anyone can ask me about the articles.

For a news media who has special constitutional rights  protecting it's free function, not to report a hideous evil in the world is beyond simple hypocrisy.  It is evil in it's self.

Has the King of the Moabite Mainstream Media, King Sulzberger, had any of his flying monkeys cover the story?  You know in the NY Slimes.  Does anybody know?
