O, Irony!
Most of the demands of the Occupy Wall Street (etc.) crowd can be broken down to the basic plea for wealth redistribution.
So how do they feel when their own wealth gets redistributed?
Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.
“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.
“I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”
Dude! Sorry to hear your $5,500 Mac was stolen. That sucks, man! But try not to think of it as stolen. Think of it as "redistributed."

Re: O, Irony!
Wait, what on earth is an 18 year old doing on the legal team?
Also: if the protesters can't plan for crooks, and they can't plan for a contingency food supply... I don't want to hear their plans for a dynamic, highly complex financial system.

I love this.

I am offended by the gun imagery. Had any schoolchild in America displayed this dangerous graphic, he'd be hauled off in shackles.

Ah, you don't even need to be a schoolkid. You can be a college professor and receive nearly the same treatment.

Re: O, Irony!
One of the core principles of the Marxists meandering about the downtown areas is that property is theft.
Your Mac wasn't stolen...it was liberated!

Here's how the interview goes down in my imagination:
Actual Journalist: Electronic devices and kitchen funds can be considered wealth. Aren't you for redistribution of wealth?
Protestor: Yes, but not my wealth.
A man can dream.

Re: O, Irony!
I don't have a Mac. That's not fair! Maybe I should make a cardboard testimony and head down to my local OWS.

I have a Mac. Two of them actually. One cost me $1,400. One cost me $200. But it's been almost three decades since Apple had a $5,000 computer. So I really wonder what kind of a system that kid had!

Well, if you buy your RAM from Apple, you could probably approach 5K.

I'm an 18 year-old with a toy worth more than your house.
For fun I go to New York and complain about how society screws me.
My toy was stolen right by Wall Street.
We are the 99%.

In other words OWS is merely a den of thieves.

Re: O, Irony!
This is not a good thing. The Occupy crowd is arguing for economic fascism. After a little more of this, they'll be demanding a Secret Police force to put and end to the theft as well.

Re: O, Irony!
I think that's already happening . . .
Re: O, Irony!
Why should most of the Macs be held by such a small percentage of the protestors? Why such an unequal distribution? Where's the social justice? It's immoral! It's right there in the Constitution, somewhere between free false teeth and the right to chop up a baby. No Mac, no peace!

Forgive my insensitivity, but some observations beg to be said: "When you lie down with dogs, you're bound to get up with fleas."
I ought to regret having thought that, more so for having posted it, but I don't.

No kidding. My latest tricked out mac cost $2,000. Maybe this person is hoping to scam his insurance company.

Or, maybe, this person is 18, stupid, quoting inane platitudes, and can't find their *** with both hands and a flashlight.
