Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
I really think Newt can change hearts and minds about the true nature of conservatism. At the very least he can frame , or unframe, debates so that the media is forced to discuss the real issues, and most Americans will then agree with the conservative side.
Most of the complaints about him are either old news, which the media really can't re-hash too much, or pathetic - like he's on his third wife, which I find risable in this day and age. If it had been this thrid civil-union with his pool-boy, the left would be defending him. And social conservatives don't help their cause with me by attacking him on these grounds. He's made mistakes, he's admitted to making those mistakes. I know I've seen my share of bad marriages up close, and blaming one person (usually the man) and acting as though it is some grave failing and character flaw is moral over-kill.
As I have said, he's been pre-villified - now that we know who all hates him and why, we can discuss the issues. Newt is near perfect for this election cycle.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
I'm with you on the desirability of Newt for V.P., but do you discount Rubio on the basis that he's not a fighter or not from a working class background? If so, you're wrong on both counts.
