Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
This is Newt at his best. David Gregory has no answer other than the DNC talking points.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
To paraphrase an old stoner staying, I guess Sandra Fluke would say, "birth control will get you through times of no cash better than cash will get you through times of no birth control." And THIS is what David Gregory thinks is a crucial issue for potential presidents to discuss.

I am pro-choice. But it is sickening to me that this silly so-called journalist would ask such a patently absurd question as "can you not see how this would be viewed as an attempt to take away women's rights?" No, Mr. Idiot, I cannot see how this could be so framed except as a false issue that in itself belies the dependency mentality of the American left, especially by those who call themselves feminists. I would like to say to him, "Mr. Gregory, do you not see how you're participating in the culture wars?

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
I tried to explain this issue to the liberals on my facebook feed and they simply didn't understand. They actually believe that Rush, and all conservatives, are arguing that anybody who uses contraception is a prostitute! I've never encountered such a blatant straw man.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
Mitt could not have done what Newt did in that clip. He is incapable of it. Rick may have pulled it off, but not as succinctly.

Way to go, Newt!

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
Newt's closing statement should be echoed by everyone when confronted by such a distracting question from a liberal; contraception is available everywhere in the US and therefore case closed. Then we should immediately get back to the real issue of our 1st Amendment rights being trampled by Obama and his administration.
I wrote a piece this morning on how so many of us on the right are being fooled into taking up arms against a distracting argument:

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
You would think Gregory would have known better after what Newt did to John King. But even after Newt gave him multiple opportunities to change the subject, he just couldn't do it.

Newt is so very good at this. He'd make a fun White House Spokesman, dontcha' think?

If Newt were WH Press Secretary, they could make Press Conferences pay-per-view cable events.
I'd buy a season pass.

I think he'd make a fantastic president.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
Newt is a Jedi Master in the Media-Clone War against the Progressive Empire. Why can others in the conservative-GOP resistance not learn to use the Force as he does? It has a strong influence on the weak-minded, as David Gregory just gave proof.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
Why is Newt falling in the polls? What's wrong with conservative America? Does anybody think either of the other candidates can put up this kind of fight in the heart of enemy territory? Santorum is good, and takes the right position, but nobody's got the battle-hardened cojones that Newt's got right now.
If I were in Newt's shoes I think I'd say "to heck with stumping for primaries, I'm going after Obama". Give a few speeches in Georgia and wherever he thinks a little exposure will help his case, then reschedule the rest of the campaign -- straight up to November -- to following Obama around and deconstructing every one of his speeches an hour or two hours afterwards, in the same venue or one close by. Let the people see the difference between a teleprompter-dependend "orator" and a statesman who understands the issues, thinks on his feet, publishes papers and writes books outlining matters of policy, and doesn't take nonsense from the media.
Newt had the right idea in outlining his strategy "if [he] gets the nomination" -- he just needs to move the schedule up a bit.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
This is an easy straw man to knock down:
"It's a lie that conservatives are opposed to complete access to birth control. Since most liberals want birth control and fewer children, conservatives support that, since it would eventually mean that most children would be mainly raised by conservatives...making us the permanent majority."

Except that Mitt has, several times. In the New Hampshire debate against George Stephanopolous and also in the Mesa, Arizona debate, I believe.

My thought too, except Newt would never stoop to White House Press Secretary. You'd have to call it something like Grand Czar of Communications.
He is very good at not letting the press deflect him from the crux of the matter. When Bachmann tried the same thing, she sounded stilted and robotic, but Newt is nimble. Could we infuse Mitt with an essence of Newt without being accused of witchcraft?

Breitbart and Newt were/are the only ones that refuse to accept the media narrative.
If only Romney could do this.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
Breitbart would have been an awesome Press Secretary.

Re: Newt Explains the Facts to David Gregory
This makes me long for a Gingrich Presidential News Conference. After a couple news conferences like this I can imagine the MSM drawing straws over who HAS to cover the conference, knowing that they'll get schooled in front of the nation.
