Faced with multiple reports of early-voting irregularities and election shenanigans across the country, left-wing groups are playing dumb, deaf, and blind. Voter fraud? What voter fraud?
More cunningly, these organizations are seeking to marginalize complaints about election integrity by casting citizen-watchdog efforts as racist “scare tactics.” Echoing President Obama’s message to the Democratic faithful on the campaign trail, they are accusing political opponents of suppressing the votes of minorities and the poor.

As a computer scientist, I don't trust electronic voting machines without a paper trail that the voter themselves can double-check to confirm their choices, right there at the ballot box. Though paper can still be manipulated after the fact, having the paper trail makes it that much harder for code to surreptitiously change the totals without getting noticed.

I agree, BSA. But what do you bet that all of these reports -- and there are a lot of them, especially coming out of Harry Reid's Nevada -- won't get nearly the ink that the allegations against Diebold got in 2004? Because Diebold was considered a Republican company, and the SEIU -- the union to which voting machine workers belong -- is considered just a run of the mill trade union.

Of course it won't get as much ink by the "mainstream" press, but it's already getting plenty of ink in the "alternative" press. (By the way, I wonder when we can switch those two labels around? As Klavan pointed out, the "extreme" is now mainstream and vice versa.)
