Keith Olbermann, the former MSNBC anchor, will host a prime time program for Current TV, the low-rated cable channel co-founded by Al Gore. The one-hour program will begin sometime in the spring.
Mr. Olbermann will also become the chief news officer for Current, the company said in a news release Tuesday.

As to Mr. Olbermann, may I suggest that Current TV send him on assignment to, say, the border of North Korea?

His choice of employment has got to be a barometer of his appeal in the marketplace. Schadenfreude? Yep. He's especially deserving of it.

I wouldn't get too excited about Olbermann disappearing forever into obscurity. The network is run by Al Gore which means it won't last long.

Current is in 30 million fewer homes than PMSNBC and does not subscribe to Nielsen Research so all measurement of their ratings are never made public.

This new channel should be part of viewing in mental hospitals. Probably make the viewers feel better about their status... Then again if it were labelled "Cruel and Unusual Punishment", that might speak volumes...
