I, and I'm sure many, many other New Yorkers, are incredibly jealous of PJS and mfcgbot for getting to spend a day at the zoo with Claire, so I think this calls for a celebratory (retaliatory?) holiday season Rico-Soiree in the Big Apple!

I'm thinking of meeting at 7:00PM on Friday, December 16th at Haru, the sushi restaurant in midtown that hosted this past summer's Rico-Soiree. We will, however, be avoiding the tree-canopied outdoor seating, for obvious reasons.

I doubt this is on Haru's menu.

Haru is on 48th between Park and Madison (yelp.com says it's on Park; don't believe it, that is the address of the corner building in which Haru is located). Please let us know in this feed if we can expect you! I will be making a reservation on Wednesday, December 14th.

Tell your friends! Bring prospective converts! Let's make this a great holiday party, on par with the wonderful dinner we had when it was still warm out!

Please tell me that's Obama Head-Cheese. That would totally make my day.

Sounds like a great party, Humza. Hope you get a big, festive crowd.

And what would a retaliatory party be without the presence of a pinata upon which you could exhaust all of that suppressed anger and resentment?  Count me in!

Haru will be great, although Claire  took us to the zoo.  Just saying...

Drew, It's actually Obama head sushi. There are only so many political motifs sushis out there, it's the best I could do with five minutes and Google Images!

mfgcbot, as one of the culprits in selfishly hogging Claire, I suggest using YOU as the pinata... (笑) Ore mo tanoshimi ni shiteruze!

No need to suggest, I'm volunteering to be a kendo dummy!  It seems the least that I can do.

Wish I could be there. I live too far out in flyover country to attend these things.

I wish I could be there (although I will confess to checking Southwest's website in hopes that an improbable trip could become reality). Alas, I'll be rooting for you here in South Carolina. Humza, may your numbers be plentiful, may the ebi be top notch, and may the sake be warm. Kanpai!

Hah! I'll be there in spirit! In reality I'll be on MAUI with my family. Take that! Love, me

I believe that Rob Long also wanted to meet people in NYC in December.  If he and the other Ricoteers want to meet there during 23 - 26 December (I know, bad timing) then I'll do my best to be there too.

Hi, Humza,

My wife and I would like to join the festivities Friday.

Also, we'll be attending the Chrismas Concert at Saint Patrick's Cathedral (5th/50th) on Thursday. It starts at 7PM but I'm told getting there an hour early is a good idea.

(Hit post by accident.)

I've never been to the concert before, but it sounds fun, so if any wants to join us, please do! Not sure how we would meet up, but maybe that's not necessary.

Oh, wait, I just realized there's another GOP Primary debate on Thursday at 9PM... So we're canceling our plans to go to the Christmas Concert... yeah... we're political junkies...

Today's the day! It looks like there will be eight of us all told, with some arriving a bit late. A few non-Ricochet conservatives will be coming, so let's hope we can make Rob some more money--I mean get some new members signed up tonight!

If anyone would like to join last minute, feel free to show up unannounced. The reservation will be under the name "Humza", but I'll let the maitre d' know to send any people asking for the Ricochet event to our table.

I will be sure to post pictures from tonight's festivities, to look out for that in the Member Feed!
