New Podcast: Left Coast/Right Coast
Welcome to the first edition of Left Coast/Right Coast with The Daily Caller's Mickey Kaus and The Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin. This week, our cross country pundits debate the so far (to them) underwhelming Republican presidential field, Obama's inexplicable bragging about auto bailouts, immigration, and then parse Mickey's very detailed Weiner theory. Let us know what you think!
As we're still in Mea Culpa mode from last week's missing podcast, this debut episode is free for everyone. Click here to listen in your browser or here to get it in iTunes. You can also click the big green button over on the sidebar. But subsequent episodes will be for members only. So join today!

Re: New Podcast: Left Coast/Right Coast
Is this taking the place of Kaus/Limbaugh, or is Mickey pulling double-duty?

Re: New Podcast: Left Coast/Right Coast
Seriously, how are we supposed to get any work done when there are so many glorious podcasts available to distract us? What's the Internet/podcast/iPod/laptop equivalent of a couch potato? A pod potato? Couch pod? Never mind, it just finished downloading...

Oh, man! I knew someone would discover Paul Ryan once drove the wiener-mobile for Oscar Mayer. Wait! That's a reference to Wiener-gate, isn't it?

I hope it doesn't replace Kaus/Limbaugh.

I won't download. I can play it instantly, but can't download to put on my ipod. And I am with Charlotte. How am I supposed to get any work done?

Re: New Podcast: Left Coast/Right Coast
I solve the couch potato issue by downloading the podcast to my i-pod and listening during long walks with my dog. I enjoyed the first Left Coast/Right Coast podcast this afternoon (it was absolutely gorgeous weather here in DC), but was disturbed at how much I found myself agreeing with Mickey Kaus over Jennifer Rubin; on balance Jennifer was to the left of Mickey. Although if motormouth Jennifer were to pause long enough to listen to Mickey, she might realize that her relatively leftish views were poses. She really agrees with Kaus's conservative views on immigration, but seems to find it useful to portray herself as more open than he on the issue. She needs to tone down the motormouth and pay attention when the amazingly patient Kaus tries to interrupt.
I would be interested in knowing who chose the closing bumper music (Photograph, from Weezer's Green Album). Was it Mickey or Jennifer? It was the best part of a wonderful experience.

Functionary -- That would be me.
