This is a pretty big deal.

The National Border Patrol Council, which represents all 17,000 of the agency’s nonsupervisory agents, called Monday for the resignation of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. for his role in the botched “Fast and Furious” gunrunning operation that resulted in the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Council President George E. McCubbin III, a 25-year Border Patrol veteran, described Mr. Holder’s actions in the case as “a slap in the face to all Border Patrol agents who serve this country,” adding that the attorney general showed “an utter failure of leadership at the highest levels of government.”

And, according to Bill McGurn's latest in the WSJ, Holder's situation is about to get much worse.

Well, that's a real vote of confidence from the folks he is "leading." When you've betrayed your people, it's time to go.

But, then, it's not their interests he cares about, it's his own and Obama's.

Is Obama actually capable of firing anyone?

Let us see if this gets more than 10 comments.  I have resigned myself to the fact that many conservatives have been indifferent about this crooked lying AG.  It boggles my gun loving cranium.  Issa met with Holder today and will decide on whether or not to pursue a contempt vote Wednesday.  This vote is not based on facts but on how many committee members will vote against Holder which is also not based on facts but on bribes and threats of a Hooveresque nature from not only Holder but from his boss.

If the actual story is ever written from conception to the full details of the cover up I'll be surprised.  The president has had knowledge and involvement on both ends yet his firewall(Holder) is too valuable and dangerous to discard.

This won't end well, for Mr. Holder, but I have a feeling that it will end soon.  Bill McGurn does a pretty good job of laying out why something's gotta give.

Even Bill McGurn's piece discusses how we should play politics with this situation which should be well above politics.  Either Holder ordered an illegal action to stifle the second amendment or he knows who did.    Ten minutes with large pail of water and I'd give the country an answer it deserves.

There should be a flood tide of revulsion  directed against Holder from across the whole nation, regardless of political affiliation.  It's long overdue.

What if he were a Republican? The regime Media would hammer it day and night. Nothing highlights political corruption more than this story.

In case Holder was wondering, he really does lack any sense of shame or personal responsibility because a man is dead due to his wonderful, politically-motivated policies.  These are choices he makes.  Choices.  He, because of his position, and his politics, chooses not to face the consequences for his choices, which is about the most infantile thing a grown man can do, short of popping a bottle into his mouth and pooping his didies.

Holder's not a grown-up, because he's never had to be.  In this case, he's much like his boss, Barry - never had to make real-world choices, hard choices, but worse, never had to deal with the negative consequences of bad decisions.  Well, until now, that is.

"if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it" The lack of coverage by the MSM is the main culprit, despite the relentless pressure by Issa and company. I don't know if it is too complicated/odd or protection for Obama.

For tea partiers, this is a crisis that shouldn't go to waste.

Really?  I thought it was all about holding accountable the criminals who came up with and ordered Fast and Furious to be carried out.  Brian Terry's family deserves better than this type of rhetoric.

How long did it take for the national Border Control Council to come forward? I am glad they finally spoke up to power. Thank goodness the WSJ is writing about this. When will it be on mainstream TV?

The Fast and Furious debacle is said to, or should equal the Contra affair with prosecutions.  However, is Issa has any dedication and support, there may some justice. Rather doubt it though.

If memory serves, Holder served with and advised Janet Reno on the Waco, Texas spectacle.

Holder, as well as others, need to learn they are not a protected species. Let the man petition the EPA for protection.

Here comes #11.  And it's not the conservatives who are indifferent.  The general public is just learning about it as the MSM have done their best to keep people in the dark.  OK, CBS has had some coverage, thank goodness, but had this been a Republican administration, think of the barrels of ink and hours of TV that would have ensued.

As this gains traction, even the MSM will be hard-pressed to continue their silence.  I hope...

Okay then barbara lydick, you put it over the edge. What little has been reported in the MSM has been portrayed as a witch hunt and besides, anything to lessen guns is just fine by them. I was wrong above regarding Holder and Issa, they meet tomorrow and Holder has Leahy and Cummings with him. Holder calls his compliance extraordinary and unprecedented which are appropriate descriptions for his lies. I wait with baited breath to see if I resign from the GOP or not. Republican failure here ends my membership in their club. This means that much to me.

Don't give up on them yet.  This is the Chicago mob they're fighting against, and that ain't easy.  Especially with the media behind them - as you well put it.  The MSM has framed this as a witch hunt.

Well, for one thing, poor Brian Terry would be a household name.  There'd be scripts in development, and Sean Penn would be pulling out chairs for Terry's mother at swanky Hollywood dinners.
