ObamaHalo

Shall we get a group effort going? Please list your favorite Barack Obama moment that involved narcissism. Unlike sociopaths (who can hide so well), the narcissist will declare himself in a number of obvious and unusual ways. Thus, we've got plenty of examples to choose from.

Give examples and interpretations of the president's narcissism. Opinions on narcissistic personality disorder (does the One have it?) are welcome, as are anecdotes of personal experience with narcissists.

EstoniaKat,
Please tell me that's a PhotoShop.  That's way beyond narcissism.  Even Obama can't be that bad.

Rudolf Halbensinn: In Dec 2011 Obama rates himself 4th best...

I think Obama is looking solely at Johnson's domestic policies, specifically the passage of the Civil Rights Act and his War on Poverty, and ignoring the horrible handling of the Vietnam War. This might be another example of narcissism: looking only at the things he wants to see in others, rather than a fuller, more realistic picture of them.

A humiliating moment for him on a global stage. He was so sure. So very sure.

What a nice selection of examples! How about his handling of the debt/budget issues last summer. Wading in to the negotiations and throwing a hissy fit when Cantor did not yield to Obama's greatness. Crying to the media about it too. Dr Rahe discusses a tactic to unnerve Obama which will work and that is criticizing the man in such a way as to bring forth a narcissistic temper outburst. Obama is a thin skinned avocado, a Haas not, and we shall make a dip from him.

I wish it was. But it's been around before he won the election. You know he got to star in his own comic book?

The Chicago Olympics thing was hilarious. I was in Finland, listening to Rush Limbaugh (now there's a weird sentence), and Rush was going on and on about how Oprah was eating Norway in grief, like she was Godzilla. I almost drove off the road.

The only thing I can add (I think it works) to all of these other great contributions is the selection of Joe "son-of-a-miner" Biden for VP.  Who else could BHO have selected to help make him look better?!

I think it's helped his lack of death threats, as anybody who had an idea of assassination would then be faced with Biden in the Oval Office (and not just visiting).

"Al Qaeda is still a threat. We cannot pretend somehow that because Barack Hussein Obama got elected as president, suddenly everything is going to be OK."--Barack Obama

What kind of narcissist thinks they need to tell us this?

The kind that thinks he has to inform people of this:

I do not bring with me today a definitive solution to the problems of war.

Jay Bhattacharya: This exchange between Obama and Cathleen Falsani still floors me:

Falsani:
Do you believe in sin?
OBAMA:
Yes.
Falsani: What is sin?
OBAMA:
Being out of alignment with my values.

Reminded me of something from Ben Shapiro at townhall:

President Obama....We can't escape him. He delayed the fifth game of the 2008 World Series, so he could broadcast a 30-minute infomercial for his campaign. He threw out the first pitch at the
Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2009. He did a 10-minute
interview with Katie Couric during the 2010 Super Bowl broadcast.
In both 2009 and 2010, he did interviews with ESPN to tell the world
about his NCAA tournament brackets. In 2010, Obama showed up on
"American Idol." As commander-in-chief, he's hit
"The View," "The Tonight Show," "The
Late Show" and "Jersey Shore." OK, he hasn't hit
"Jersey Shore" ... yet.

I'm off to go camping with wife and four doctors, two of them liberals. The fire at night during libations will be quite hot. My project next week will be to break down all these answers and apply them to various critical aspects of narcissistic personality disorder and do my best to prove it. Anyone who wishes to look at the criteria and discuss their favorite examples can do so here or PM me if they want anonymity. Obviously duplications with analysis will be the norm. I am sure some analysis must be in a book somewhere but I'm not sure if it's been done with such a pleasant group effort. We must all understand that this president is something very different from a normal person and, unlike his lofty opinion of himself, I do not mean this in a pleasant way. Not only is defeating him imperative but we must also discredit the progressive ideology along the way for he is their poster child. Our country is in the balance.

Instugator: This montage is pretty creepy, it is like it is just him and the camera, the people beside him don't matter. His smile never wavers and his hands hardly move at all either. · Aug 8 at 1:24pm

He evidently wears the same suit every day, too. That's creepy and other things, as well.
