PLease join us for our live streaming of the NR Institute Summit Meeting from Washington DC. It's an impressive line up of speakers and panels and many of you will want to listen to all of it. We're starting tomorrow at 8:15AM ET and will continue through most of the day.

Then, be sure and join us tomorrow night at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT for the Night Owl session with Rob Long, Jonah Goldberg, and yes -- Mark Steyn. If you can't make it, not to worry. We will be recording that session (and a few others) for release later as a podcast.

The live stream/chat is located here. But you do have to be a Ricochet member to listen. Not a member? No problem -- you can join now!

I almost thought about going.  $250 didn't seem like that much to attend a weekend event like that.  Lodging probably wouldn't have been cheap.  I wish NR had sent out notifications about the event a bit sooner than when I received one.  Maybe next time.

This will be the next best thing.

Blue YetiThat said, be sure and stop by on Saturday night at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT for the Night Owl session and the return of an old friend.

Well, a year-and-a-half hiatus is still shorter than that of some HBO series I suppose.

The NRI conference is showing up on my CSPAN listings for tomorrow.  So I can be there in spirit.  Went to the one in 1993, wish I could have made it this year.

Blue Yeti

C-Span (their crew was right next to me) is only covering this event until mid-day. We'll be streaming most of tomorrow and a portion on Sunday. Plus, they don't have our super-fun chat.

Ted Cruz's speech was a re-fried Jack Kempian "Growth and Opportunity" message, fine for a glad-handing, pastel politician, but somewhat disappointing from a conservative leader.

I will point out to Senator Cruz that historically one thing 4% growth encourages is an awful big wish-list for Santa Claus to deliver. Government did not shrink during our most recent period of economic growth.

"Growth" is the appeal and the treachery of the supply-side argument - you can have your low taxes and big government, too. And that's exactly what we got. Kemp, Arthur Laffer and Steve Moore never failed to mention how revenues would increase to pay for our entitlement state if the US cut taxes and stimulated economic growth...like that was a good thing.

Cheering them on were millions of government bureaucrats. But how did it work out for conservatives - or America?

Now Ted Cruz is singing the same old siren song.

Rand Paul.

Morning was a great listen. Wish the whole panel was archived as a podcast! (was it?)

With this live streaming, what is there for the paying customers besides the food?

Blue Yeti

It wasn't. But C-SPAN has it.

When we expect the Steyn-Goldberg-Long stuff to appear here as a podcast?  I was cracking up listening to it live, but my husband (also a Ricochet member) wasn't able to hear with me.  I want to share it with him :)

Blue Yeti

Probably Monday morning.
