NCAA Pool -- Final Four Update
The Final Four teams in the 2011 NCAA tournament are set. Next Saturday, Butler will play VCU followed by UConn versus Kentucky. The Final will be played on Monday, April 4.
POTUS is no longer winning the pool and, I think, cannot win the coveted tee. He has been passed by Grant Casteel and Mike LaRoche. If UConn wins the whole tournament, my husband ("Matthew Hennessey") will be the victor*. If Kentucky beats UConn, Dave Carter is sitting pretty. But, I am uncertain what happens if the Butler/VCU winner goes on to win the whole thing. Can someone help me out here?
*Don't worry. My husband will not accept the T-shirt because he already has the Ricochet Logo tattooed to his chest. We'll try to think of a creative contest to give it to a member. Any ideas?

Re: NCAA Pool -- Final Four Update
How about mouse pads for everyone that made it to the final group? Just kidding. What's going to be in stock in the Rico-shop? Maybe a gift credit to the shop? Free shipping on the first order?

Well, I'm throwing my hat into the ring for the school that had the good sense to hire Geno Auriemma. ( I know, I know- it's a different program), but have an enormous respect for the school's AD.
Cool factoid: Geno has his "girls" practice against U Conn men's bench....

I've been accused of a lot of things, but until tonight, "sitting pretty" wasn't one of them. I'm a little less sure of myself now.

When you say "give it to a member," you do mean the T and not the tattoo, don't you? Giving away the tatt could be painful....

Re: NCAA Pool -- Final Four Update
I wanted to weigh-in on the fact that POTUS picked four "number one's" and none are left. Again, it is a microcosm of his Presidency. He relies on others' opinions and never steps outside of that. He was supposed to be smarter than the rest of us, but can only follow the general consensus when making decisions. He voted "present" by his choices. Those kinds of decisions work for awhile, but in the end you lose and never distinguish yourself from the other losers. He is exactly who we thought he was: "nothing special".

Re: NCAA Pool -- Final Four Update
Yes, I can (though sadly without the obligatory cheerleader pic of the day). The outcome of the Ricochet pool depends entirely on one game: UConn - Kentucky. Either Matt or Dave will lead the pool after that game. As nobody has Butler or VCU, nobody can then pass the leader. So that game determines the winner.
If Kansas had stayed in, it would have been a bit more intriguing, with more than two possible winners, and all three games coming into play. As it is, we have two contenders, and one game.
I do think that FeliciaB should get something for having the lowest point total. She's held that title all weekend, and cannot mathematically be ousted from it.

That is the only game determining the absolute winner, I mean. It is possible that some may be pursuing personal rivalries and vendette that could involve other games, so check the standings. Though I regret to inform Rob that he can't catch Peter. Nor can Andrea catch the cat. I mopped the floor with randomly-selected archrival Ottoman Umpire, though.

I chose that phrase 'specially for you, Dave. Glad you noticed.
