Claire, owning seven cats while trying- nobly, I admit- to get a puppy adopted, is sort of like the difference between offering to supply milk or bacon.

Well, Claire, I think you misunderstood me. I never once doubted your devotion to dogs. What concerns me is your equal devotion to cats.
"Concern" is the wrong word. We all have little imperfections. It's what makes us wonderful and human and special. You like cats. Okay. God, I guess, has His reasons for things like this. And so, like my spiritual teachers, the dogs, I will curl up at your feet and forgive you, after turning around three times.

Isn't cat hoarding a sign of mental illness?
(The only reason I can think of owning more than one cat, is for the purposes of vivasection; but it might be my Aussie sense of humour.)
