My Favorite Ballot Initiative
Voters are scared. Science and facts are not carrying the day. But for voters in Denver, there is hope. Tomorrow they will vote on Resolution 300, which would require the City of Denver to finally face up to the influx of extraterrestrials:
Shall the voters for the City and County of Denver adopt an Initiated Ordinance to require the creation of an extraterrestrial affairs commission to help ensure the health, safety, and cultural awareness of Denver residents and visitors in relation to potential encounters or interactions with extraterrestrial intelligent beings or their vehicles, and fund such commission from grants, gifts and donations?
If Resolution 300 passes, I assume that the Obama administration will sue to have it overturned. After all, don’t they claim pre-emption on all matters relating to aliens? (h/t Lowering the Bar)

If Dennis Kucinich gets beat and wants to leave Cleveland, it looks like he'll have somewhere to go.

What if an alien says to a Tea Partier: " Take me to your Leader"?

Re: My Favorite Ballot Initiative
Haven't these people seen "Independence Day"? Where's the military component?
But I guess if we're sufficiently "culturally aware" of the extraterrestrials, we'll be able to negotiate a fair resolution of any problems between us and them (see, for example, our successes with the Iranians over the bomb or the Israeli-Palestinian issue).
As a former Denver resident, I'm willing to move back and be on the Commission if the salary and pension are adequate.

Yeah right, laugh away everyone. But when the interplanetary travelers show, the people of Denver are gonna be ready.

Didn't Mork from Ork shack up with Mindy in Boulder,Colorado? And them take over the body of a human and turn him into an insufferable liberal? And by the way, when was Mindy last seen? And now previously sane Colorodans are preparing for an influx of multiple Mrs Doubtfire lookalikes! Call me paranoid but it all seems a little too coincidental.

Re: My Favorite Ballot Initiative
Call that progressive? Here in Minnesota we deal with alien life forms by electing them to high office. Who (what) do you think Ventura and Franken are? This is a veritable witness protection program from Men in Black.
If, God forbid, Mark Dayton is elected Governor tomorrow, the King of the Aliens will be enthroned.

"...extraterrestrial intelligent beings..."
Any initiatives for extraterrestrial stupid beings? And who will be the judge to determine the difference? The ninth circuit?
