Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter

I leave it to others to express outrage that the owner of a major newspaper such as the New York Daily News should be so thoroughly in the tank for this administration. Me? As a former presidential speechwriter myself, I just want to know what Zuckerman got paid

Paid? That organization is so in the tank, I'm sure Zuckerman just wrote it for the honor, Peter.

Re: Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter
It is hard to have any outrage left. One more way the MSM is in the tank for Obama and the Dems. It just keeps getting worse. Maybe it was always this bad and we just know about it now. But I think what is happening is that as they loose more an more, they increase their concentration and gt further and further to the left.

Re: Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter
Regardless of what the Obama campaign paid, they may now wish they had paid a bit more in exchange for a confidentiality agreement.
Re: Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter
In that case, Denise, shouldn't you and I go picket the Daily News? Writers like us can't let Zuckerman work for free.
Re: Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter
Peter, Did you not have the experience as a presidential speechwriter of waking up and finding all manner of people you never heard of taking credit for writing this or that speech? Methinks that was going on here, especially given old Mr. Z's clarification. I expect that the number of claimants to the "Tear Down this Wall" speech have grown as exponentially as claims of ancestors riding over on the Mayflower.
Re: Mort Zuckerman, Presidential Speechwriter
You may be onto something there, Bill. Here's Mr. Z's "clarification," which doesn't really clarify anything. On the other hand, would he have used quotation marks around "helped" if, in the composition of an Obama speech, he really had, well...helped?

There are so many wise, talented communicators right of center; so talented that I think they are even capable of reaching and persuading all but the most hopeless lefties. Messrs. Robinson and Long come to mind, as do Mark Steyn, and Dennis Prager (and many others. I truly hope said people have, and will offer to help various candidates get elected.
By the way, Mr. Zuckerman is too rich to have taken money for any speech writing he may have done.
