Miner on Letterman

Another fun video. This time, I think it's legit!
It's also heartwarming, funny, and has lots of human interest-y parts to watch (the translator, the jittery knees of the miner, an Elvis dance!) and wonder about (How must this guy feel? Why did Letterman ask about sanitation? Is this breaking some super-tight miner publicity pact?).

Hilarious! Of course, they won't make significant money out of this story. Cause they didn't eat anyone. Even after they got food, they still should've eaten somebody if they were thinking of the marketing value. Possibly the annoying guy (nope, can't eat me; I'm too scrawny). Can't really get much for the screen rights without The Custom of the Sea.
Actually, I do wonder about sanitation in works of fiction. Obviously not something you really want to read about, so understand the author's choice to omit it. But when people get trapped for a long time, it does raise the question.

My favorite line, excepting the whole Elvis send up, is at 1:50
Dave: Is in South America "funky" a mining term?
Translator: (explanation, explanation, explanation while Dave cackles his signature laugh)
Miner: (pause, pause, pause) Si.
