Medicaid funding imbalance, Ca. subsidizes New York $4 billion a year on health care

Medicaid works like a 401k plan in that the Fed matches what an individual state allocates at about a 50% level. New York totals $7927 per person, California $2740 annually. California pays $76 billion more in taxes to the Fed than New York. Four billion dollars of California's taxes go to support New York's Medicaid system. Both states reimburse doctors and hospitals at the same anemic rate. This is what happens when you politicize health insurance. Check it out here.
