McCain v. Mukasey

The Republican Senator from Arizona has just called out the former AG:
Former attorney general Michael Mukasey recently claimed that “the intelligence that led to bin Laden . . . began with a disclosure from Khalid Sheik Mohammed, who broke like a dam under the pressure of harsh interrogation techniques that included waterboarding. He loosed a torrent of information — including eventually the nickname of a trusted courier of bin Laden.” That is false.
Will be interesting to hear the reaction.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
One wonders how a mere Senator would have more facts on this subject than the former Attorney General.
This kind of stuff from McCain reminds me just how crappy our choices were in 2008.

John McCain is about to become a media darling again.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
Waterboarding was never used to get unknown information. They used the waterboarding method until the subject's information matched what the CIA already knew were the facts. It was used for attitude adjustment, to indicate that game-playing and lying was not appreciated. You're done jerking us around, and here's something to indicate that we're deadly serious. But then, when subjects started telling the truth, then the waterboarding stopped, and they could just talk. Only then, the new information would pop up,

God, I loathe McCain.
Apparently, lots of other folks do, too. According to a recent poll he's the second-most-disliked Senator, topping only Joe Lieberman.

Mike Hayden appears before Senate Armed Services Committee today. Will be interesting to hear if he has anything to say.

Joe Lieberman is more disliked than Barbara "Call me Senator" Boxer, or Harry "Cowboy Poems" Reid, or Chuck "They're Extreme" Schumer? Was this a poll at MoveOn.org?

I makes me think that it's a good thing to be the most disliked senator... If you are the least popular part of an unpopular body, maybe that's a good thing?
It's also a seriously misleading poll... Liberals all hate Lieberman, along with a great deal of Republicans (just because he's a dem leaning indy), and people hate McCain for the exact opposite reason. Right?

And now we have to deal with his empty-headed, rent-seeking daughter, Meghan. If she weren't the daughter of big John no one would listen to anything she says, including her boyfriend.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
McCain must be nuts. He doesn’t have the intellectual heft to get into a debate with Mukasey about anything.
If McCain would save some of his venom for Democrats...Oh, I forgot. This is about getting the media to fawn over him again. He must be feeling neglected.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
John "Lindsey Graham" McCain or is it visa versa, needs to go back to Arizona, start enjoying his beautiful wife, and take his daughter with him. He obviously doesn't have the stomach anymore for the rough stuff. I appreciate his service but it's time he step aside. I so much dislike him that it can't be put into words properly. Does he long for love and attention so much from the people that hate him that he is always willing embarrase himself like this, or is there something deeper happening? It truly disgusts me.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
Republican senators have always been a conundrum to me, few are senatorial, and few are Republican .
Democrat senators are very senatorial in the classical traditions of Incitatus. At least in the end.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
Remember, moderates, who want to win a seat for the team as long as the guy votes with Republicans most of the time, this is what happens. This is how they undermine the whole conservative or Republican narrative. And they do it for years. They can throw a whole Presidential election with this kind of behavior.

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
One goes back to the truly horrible choice presented to us in 2008. Remember all the justifications we were told to swallow with this guy? Think about that when we're told to choose another squish because he is the most electable. Yeah, yeah, yeah, great Amercian... I think we're even with this guy now, time for 'this old soldier to just fade away'...

Re: McCain v. Mukasey
Has anyone else noticed that if it isn't Juan McCain giving us the benefit of his wisdom on the Sunday morning talk shows it's his faithful acolyte Lindsey Graham. The left's favorite Republicans. Did anyone ever figure out whose wives own more homes, Kerry's or McCain's?
