Martini Shot: Goat Cheese

Rob Long doesn't like goat cheese. In fact, he dislikes it so much, he compares eating it to getting script notes from network executives. That's bad.

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I'll see Rob's goat cheese and raise him a salmon. "You've never tried it prepared like this." I probably have. I've tried the stinking fish prepared pretty much any way you can think of. It is vile. I get quite angry in restaurants when they even walk past my table with a stinky fish, never mind putting it in my mouth.

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I like most goat cheese but I do not like malbec. It smells like wet dog; which is ok for a dog, but not for a wine.

This is the best Martini Shot yet. Cracked Me up.
And like a few links some People post, "I don't like goat cheese."

Wow did you just not have anything to say!

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I'm glad you spoke up, Rob. You've given me the courage to admit that I, too, don't like goat cheese.
Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I think the problem is that you just haven't had it prepared right. if you'd had it prepared right -- like the way I serve it -- I bet you would like it.
That was the point of this Martini Shot, right?

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
Goat cheese is a dog whistle for white working-class voters, goat cheese is a reference to Obama! That's racist!

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I have found that if one says they are allergic to a food, people will not force it on them - no one wants you swell up and have to go to the hospital as that can put a bit of a damper on a party.
It also works wonders in restaurants: "I'm not a big fan of mayo so no mayo, please" vs. "I'm allergic to mayo so no mayo, please".

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
A script with no executive notes...
is that similar to a post with no comments?

I certainly heard it as an admission that he'd never been to Vendome, in Cologne, where he would surely love the goat's cheese. Seriously, it's like no goat's cheese you've had before.

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
If Obama wins and those of us honorably betting against him have to host that bash with Rob in the Catbird Seat, I've got a menu to suggest:
OBAMA VICTORY DINNER
Goat cheese Waldorf salad
Chevre soup
Feta Medallions with Mango-Pepper Salsa
Goat-cheese and Ham
Goat cheesecake (yes, really)
Not that I'll begrudge Rob being right, but it's a little Black Soxish, betting against your team. I hope you're not actively working against Romney, Rob. If you're ever tempted, just remember the Victory Menu.

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
If you look at page 2657 of Obamacare, it says that a daily ration of goat cheese will be mandated; however, that may change based on a possible future ruling by the Commissioner.
Oh, and I hate coffee and I live two hours away from the flagship Starbucks in Seattle.

And arugula. Don't forget the arugula.

That's okay - I've often had people dumbfounded by my hatred of salmon. I live in the Portland area.

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
Rob - I have the same problem with avocado. I tell people I don't like avocado and probably 2/3 of the time they respond with "What about guacamole?" When I tell them I care for it, they insist that THEIR recipe for guacamole is awesome and I have to try it. It turns out that THEIR recipe is still mostly avocado.
I sometimes think I would have to eat less guacomole if I didn't tell people I don't like it.
I once knew a guy who didn't care for onions. He got so tired of pushy people forcing their recipes on him he started telling people he was seriously allergic to onions and he could die if he ate any.
Has it really come to this? Do we have to lie to well-meaning idiots who assume we're narrow-minded because we have a food preference?

Re: Martini Shot: Goat Cheese
I like most types of goat cheeses, but fish or coffee, yuck! And then there is that poison known as cilantro.
