Mandates and Freedom
A new petition opposing the Obama Administration's violations of individual conscience is up here. Please share it, sign it, and promote it.
The Administration's decision to impose their values and redefine religious exemption to the point of meaninglessness is part and parcel of a mindset that believes that the elite know best and that their one-size-fits-all vision ought to be imposed on the rest of us benighted cretins.
In their utopia, there's no room for choice (unless it's their own), there's a presumption that citizens are incapable of choosing their own best path, and there's a condescension towards the idea that anyone else might have an alternate sense of the higher good.
By the way, the focus on contraception is a raw political calculation that -- if the story is framed as just being about that -- the administration will win women and the youth vote. But it isn't just about that, and the principles at stake are huge. Too bad so many have forgotten what freedom looks like.

Re: Mandates and Freedom
I like how you frame it as choice-- throw the "pro-choice" moniker back at them. Of course, they'll say they're just asking the institutions to give employees a choice, but they take the choice away from the institutions-- period.
The employees still have their own choice even if the institutions won't pay for contraception for them. It's not like people can't afford contraception on their own.
