Just back from their triumphant one city tour, The Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin and The Daily Caller's Mickey Kaus debate Obama's "the private sector is fine" gaff, the meaning and impact of Wisconsin, who'll run with Romney, the enduring mystery of Bill Clinton, and a look ahead to the fall.

Naive. Obama had his press conference, if it could be called that, to distract from Wisconsin, Clinton, and Eric Holder's potential contempt charges. Both are curious about campaign changes etc but what is missing is that this administration is a den of thieves and once key members go it will be like Hitler in the bunker. Obama's folks are in for the duration.

The only way Obama can win is to throw unions under the bus, but it's counter-intuitive and ideologically impossible, given the president's desire for more government (which =s more public sector unions). Also, the idea of having him be president rather than campaign will not work because he clearly hates the job and only likes the game to get there. In short, he's his own worst enemy, which is kind of understandable since he's utterly self-obsessed. But you can bet that, should be lose re-election, there will be no self-scrutiny on his part though it will be nobody's fault but his own.

God have mercy, can someone *please* tell Jennifer Rubin to stop eating during podcasts!  The lip smacking and gulping drives me insane.  It is such a bummer because this podcast is one of my favorites across the web, let alone on Ricochet.

My Bill Clinton theory FWIW is that Bill Clinton spends his time around wealthy people, mostly Democratic.  They are likely saying to him, "Bill, this guy is killing us!  He's killing the party!  We want to be behind him, but he demonizes us, and shows contempt for the American entrepreneurial spirit".  Being told this time and again, and realizing that his pals did well during HIS Democratic administration must have an effect.

Martin, my sentiments exactly! I was going to post that same plea but you beat me to it. Common courtesy alone should keep the woman away from the chips and dip while she's talking.
