Romney choice of Ryan looking better and better.  Romney re-energised and speaking better. Now we can choose between Greek and US dream.

It's almost like someone has flipped a switch.  Let's pray that they can stay focused on the issues that matter.

The problem is that the Greek dream of early retirement and sitting near a beach with a decent pension from someone else looks appealing to a lot of people.......

It is the right time for the good fight over the principles. The Ryan choice crystallizes the election: truth vs lies, small vs large government, freedom vs socialism. And it calls out all Americans who could not be enthusiastic about Romney - until now.

The Greek scenario is not going to convey much to "average" American voters.  I'd go with the folks who are suggesting that the specter of California is more likely to hit home.  Sarah Palin sums up nicely:

Obama’s America is today’s California – complete with $100 billion taxpayer funded bullet trains to nowhere; out of control environmental extremists who have destroyed family farms and left some of the most fertile farm land in America fallow in order to protect a three inch fish; permanent high unemployment; government policies hostile to small business job creators; crippling high taxes; an abysmal real estate market; bloated government that wastes taxpayer money; endless budget shortfalls due to massive unfunded liabilities; city after city declaring bankruptcy; and a state government run by, in the words of one Wall Street Journal writer, “a brothel of environmentalists, lawyers, public-sector unions and legislative bums.

This pick says more about Romney than anything else. The guy's got a pair.

Back in 1980 a lot of people thought that ticket was also upside down.

This way:  8 for Romney then 8 for Ryan

The other way:  8 for Ryan.

Hmmmm...Seems like the ticket is in the right order.

Based on David Frum's commentary, Ryan is clearly the right man for the job.  Next time someone starts in on "Oh, David Frum has a good point!!!", I'll just direct them to Hypothesis #1.

And for a slightly less deranged No-Labeller, here's John Avlon.  I can't wait to find out if Jon Meacham thinks Paul Ryan is a centrist.

Was Frum in a serious accident that damaged his brain box since 2001?  I read his book about Dubya and liked it so much I wrote him a note.  This is not the same man who wrote "The Right Man."  Or maybe this version of Frum is actually proof positive of the invasion of the body snatchers.

Greece is in trouble because of huge budget deficits, Ryan's plan ignores the budget deficit.

As a business person, I have always liked Romney, and now I like his choice of VP. When I heard Romney's speech about restoring America as the hope of the world, I have to admit I had tears in my eyes and was electrified. Talk about charisma and eloquence! Keep that up Mitt! You are far superior to Obama because there is substance in what you are saying, and you appeal to the depths of the American soul. Also, I hope, to the American brain. :-)

Romney and Ryan are making the issues so clear, the American people have a clear choice before them. American values that made America great, or European values that have led to the present economic crisis?

Maybe business people won't have to "do a John Galt" after all!

Canada has successfully turned around with economist Stephen Harper and the great team he has drawn around him. Slowly, quietly, and carefully, they are changing Canada, improving the business climate, and as a result the economy is improving.

What a difference it will make to Canada if we can be friends with America and once again consider Americans our best business partners.

Red Feline: finally, a cat avatar to like.

And yes, the best thing about the Ryan choice is the clarity it brings.
