The City cover

If you're looking for a long read on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I'd encourage you to check out the latest edition of The City, the journal I edit published by Houston Baptist University.

The Spring edition includes a piece by Ricochet's own Paul Rahe, as well as professor Louis Markos on Saint Augustine, Paul D. Miller on Alexis de Tocqueville and the Tea Party, and Paul Bonicelli on Andrew Jackson and Iran. We also have an extensive interview with author Mary Eberstadt on the Sexual Revolution and its ramifications, and a must-read survey of several recent books from Ryan T. Anderson on the debate over the morality of democratic capitalism.

I'd encourage you to read the whole thing, and if you'd like to get a hard copy edition, you can subscribe for free here.

Good stuff here.  Sunday is my day for long reads.  I was just perusing twitter for things to read through the day.  Well-timed post.  Looking forward to the Toqueville essay.

Tried to subscribe; couldn't select USA as a country; picked Antarctica instead. Hope the post office can figure it out...

On first blush, I interpreted the title of your post as a headline in Variety:

Long Reads for the Weekend!

Venice, CA. Producer Rob Long, in a surprise move, made an appearance this Saturday at Small World Books for a reading of Jonah Goldberg's new book, The Tyranny of Cliches. While it was well received by the Ricochet cognoscenti, the reading barely made an impression on the medical-marijuana-addled brains of other denizens of  Venice Beach.

Same problem as Not JMR. Clicking on 'more countries' does not bring up more choices.

Once I disabled the popup blocker, I managed to select "United States."

I'm looking forward to reading work by Dr. Bonicelli! I came to admire his work very much when he was Dean of Academic Affairs at my alma mater, Patrick Henry College. Ben, do you think you could get him to contribute to Ricochet?
