According to this story from hollywood-elsewhere.com, The Grauman's Chinese Theater is in danger of becoming a glorified banquet hall. I've reached my capitalism limit. I scoffed at the Tiki Geeks that called my radio show trying to rally support for a protest of the closing of Trader Vic's. "You can't force a company to continue an unprofitable restaurant" was my position, although I LOVED the place.
When the Kentucky Beef in my neighborhood closed down, I didn't cry. A Carl's Jr. soon replaced it and life went on, but this is too much for me.
Mr. Government, save us from these guidos!
If we could go back in a time machine, one of the things we would do is stop downtown L.A. and many downtowns, from letting their historical theaters be turned into indoor swap meets and weird churches. That moment is now for the Chinese. This proposed disco is just the indoor swap meet of this generation.

Re: Life Goes On. But Mine Will Suck a Little More After the Proposed Chinese Theater Desecration.
Say it ain't so, Joe! The end of Blazing Saddles alone is enough to warrant the designation of this hallowed ground as a national monument. All right, if this is to happen, I say we pull a Howard Roark and blow the place up before they can get their grubby hands on it. The Mission Impossible music is fading up as I begin to smear on the black face paint. C4, check, blasting caps, check, iPhone (iDon't go anywhere without that) check. Wait, this just in, Canters is closing in June and they're putting up a Quizno's.... Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Thanks Hank. I don't want this scandal to sneak under the Osama / Royal Wedding / JPII Beatification news cloud cover.
