All right... we have our "Super Committee".... now let's start cutting!
NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!
The first goal of the super committee is modest: Figure out when to meet.
Oh boy... here we go...

I'm a little confused as to why they can't just hie over to a corner and get to work. Apparently they won't be able to cut a single dime until they spend a few handfuls of dimes on a staff. The word travesty keeps running through my mind. I wonder why that is...

Gosh, fellas, who is going to pick up the donuts for the first meeting?
And if we have a tele-conference first, how do we get donuts to each Super Person on the Super Committee?
Jeepers, guys, this whole debt reducing thingie dingie they want us to do or something might be a little trickier than we thought.
I mean, what if instead of donuts, somebody wants a bagel?

Has anyone discussed the size, shape, and material of the table and whether or not the chairs are ergonomic?

Heavens, Crow's Nest, you do have a way of getting right to the heart of the matter.
I know we should include the rest of the Super People from the Super Committee on this decision but I would appreciate your support if I make a motion that we get a table made of oak.
If you second the motion, I will support your choice on the chairs so long as their design and appearance underscore the power of the Super People on our Super Committee.

Were not they having similar problems at the Paris Peace Talks way back when! That all went well so well so what me worry?

They have a sub-commitee working on that. They have another super-committee working on what they will have for lunch. The negotiations over vegeterian lasagna versus sub sandwiches are bound to be very contentious.

There must be a darkened basement room available on the Hill. After entering, lock the door and feed them beans and dried bread through a slot in the door.
Might shorten the decision making proccess a bit.
