The Astaire and Rogers of political banter are back this week with more topics than you can shake a stick at. This week, the big bloggers take on Libya, Occupy Wall Street, Jennifer lowers the boom on Romney, Mickey wonders when Perry will quit, and they both try to make sense of Cain's advertising strategy. Smoooookin'!

We're all in agreement on this: everyone can listen in below, but if yo want to subscribe or get Mickey and Jennifer on a mobile device, you must be one of the 99%, aka a Ricochet member. Join today!

Muchos gracias to the great EJHill for the illustration.

Someone at Politico wrote a story about Mitt Romney's own personal Washington Post blogger.

Great podcast. Jen needs to learn to shut up a little more; that's how you have an actual conversation.

I'd like to correct the misconception I had in the podcast that Romney is immune from the courting of Donald Trump that the other candidates have done.  They met last month; see:  http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/09/27/courting_trump_holds_risks_for_romney_other_candidates.html

More importantly, Romney has hewed closely to the Trump line on China, see:  http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/romney-donald-trump-delightful

If he actually became president, that's a lot more consequential, and wrong, than the birther non-sense.

I'm still a little upset at Rubin for doing a hitjob on Pawlenty. :(

Excellent podcast! I've often thought that if Mitch Daniels (or pretty much anybody who is not currently running for president) had run Mitt Romney wouldn't even have a chance.

In real life Astaire was a very reserved man who hated controversy so not much is known about his political views. Rogers, on the other hand, was not shy about her Republican view points. (The driving force in her life, her mother Lela, was a Marine!)

A little upset about Rubin's hit job on Pawlenty? It was disgraceful.

A piece by John Nolte on Rubin at Big Government. Hard to disagree with him. "Left Coast 'Right' Coast is the only podcast I avoid. Bring back Limbaugh.

I just got a chance to listen to this podcast, while I as out running errands on my bike.  I once almost gave up on the series.  I am now.

Rubin was a loud, obnoxious, and arrogant scold.  The worst I ever heard her.  Her uncontained ranting was 99.44% content-free, consisting mostly of declaring people beyond the pale.  She's like Ann Coulter, but with an unpleasant voice, and without the facts and humor.  And Ann tees off on liberal bigots who are trying to shut her up, not people who are more or less on her side (including Kaus).  She's going to end up in the short end of a "Lib chicks are hotter than Con chicks" video on Youtube, and she's going to deserve it.

Ted Blurn:  Bring back Limbaugh.

I wouldn't go that far.  He was awful.  He took 75 words to put together a 25-word sentence.
