Epstein Yoo

It's the second edition of Law Talk with Epstein and Yoo. Our intrepid host Troy Senik guides the professors through a bevy of issues this week, including the Wisconsin pension battle, DOMA, and the balanced budget amendment. And yes folks, they answer questions from Ricochet members, and then wind things up with a fascinating discussion on the recent Supreme Court decision concerning the rights of protestors at military funerals.

These guys rock. I'll pitch in a few bucks to buy Prof Epstein a few periods and maybe a semicolon or two. I've read some long sentences but I can't recall hearing someone who speaks in such long sentences.

Thank you.  What a wonderful way to learn about the rationale and history that help form current pronouncements by the government and courts.  I never miss an Epstein / Yoo discussion.

I didn't think Law Talk was going to be up my alley, but I have to say I'm hooked so far.  Richard's and John's opening statements about the union issue were two of the best summaries I've ever heard about the total nonsense of collective bargaining. Of course, I do get lost when they mention certain legal terms, but appreciate the effort they make to explain them on the fly.  All three gentlemen do a great job.

I agree with Dave! Maybe we should post a short glossary of terms alongside the podcast?

Loved the latest episode. Could you share the title of the closing song?

Sure, it's "Legal Man" by Belle and Sebastian.

Mr. Senik, in your next segment, may you ask the professors about the ramifications of the new republican congress requiring every bill be justified by pointing to the part of the Constitution that authorizes the bill.  Is it possible that this will prevent the congress from passing a bill and saying it is not a tax (the individual mandate), then going to court and arguing it is a tax?

Hey, Blue Yeti!

How about an RSS feed to these podcasts that doesn't require iTunes? Or, failing that, a link to download the file directly. Thanks!

I love these podcasts, but am a little slow on the uptake, so would appreciate being able to repeat the podcast away from my computer.  I  prefer to download the file to my ipod to be able to listen to the podcast while on my power walks, as I attempt to maintain a healthy existence in both mind and body.  Thank you kindly.
